My name is Debra Cutler, I'm a disabled RN. I taught myself to knit when I wasn't able to sleep and now I'm hooked. I am a "skilled beginner?". I love to knit hats,scarfs and baby things, but am branching out to shrugs and sweaters. I live in rural North Carolina and there are limited yarn stores and no guilds. But for the details, they baked 3 square chocolate cakes, assembled them into one cake with raspberry filling between each of the 3 layers, and then carved the cake into its rounded shape. The "yarn" outside is made of colored fondant, a common technique for decorating cakes. You can find many good fondant tutorials online just by doing a web search.
