I plan to make a child's blanket (the car blanket/pillow from the Lion Brand website). Do you recommend Hometown USA or Wool-Ease Thick & Quick? Is one of them better for blankets? Is one of them less likely to stretch out/sag or pill? Thanks.

Zontee says: Hi Mary, we've made a ton of blankets in both yarns and both hold up well. Since they're both machine washable/dryable, they're both good for kids as well. Mostly, it's a matter of personal preference. Check out the color lines (Hometown USA has more brights, while Wool-Ease Thick & Quick has more muted colors) and remember that the wool content in WETQ will also make it warmer.

Finally, as it says in our Rules of Engagement, please only leave comments that relate to the original blog post. If you have other questions, please contact Customer Service at support@lionbrand.com

Beautiful! I did a similar thing recently. I wanted to knit a sweater and I wanted it to be quick and reletively painless. Since I had never knitted a sweater before, I also wanted to go easy on the budget, at least this first time around because, let's face it, as in life, there are no garuntees when knitting sweaters. I decided on the Extra-Easy Extra-Fabulous Cardigan and swapped Hometown USA for the Woolease. You're right-- it is sooo soft, especially after I washed it. Luckily, the sweater turned out well! Too bad it's 80 outside now!
