A (Giant) Touch of Cables for the Home

Recently I saw this photo of artist Christien Meindertsma‘s giant knit Aran Rug. It struck me as a beautiful and unique way to incorporate yarncrafts into your home — and I hope you find it as inspirational as I do.

I’m not sure that I have needles quite big enough for a rug, but I bet you that with Speed Stix and three strands of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, I could make a small rug or a throw.     I can’t see the linked photo either. There is an X in the corner box. Perhaps it’s firewalled (I’m at work now).

    Zontee says: Hi Grace, you’re probably on Internet Explorer — it didn’t seem to like the color encoding on the photo, but it’s fixed now, so you should be able to see it.

    I can see it !! Very cool. I think I’ve seen this before. I love the idea of a knitted rug. One of my guy friends has a rug that looks like stockinette. Aside from catching crumbs in all the nooks, his rug is very comfy. This would be a great idea for a bath matt…. multiple strands of Natures Choice Organic Cotton and speed sticks.
