On the Road: Customer Projects at Stitches Midwest

August 24th, 2010

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of going to Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL.  It was so fun being surrounded by crafters all weekend and seeing knitters everywhere we went.  As I’ve said before, one of my favorite things about going to shows is seeing customer projects.  Some stop by to show off their work, while other are stumbled upon in hotel lobbies.  Either way, seeing the finished work (or work in progress) is always so satisfying for me.  Here are some of the beautiful projects from this weekend:

Please keep your mouse over the slideshow to see the captions. Unless the name of the pattern is specified in the caption, we do NOT have the pattern available. If you’re viewing the photos in your e-mail, please click on the title of the blog post to view it on our website in order to see the captions.

We’re headed to Maker Faire NY in September and Stitches East in October, and we’d love to see you there!  Even if you can’t make it to a show you can share your projects in our Customer Gallery.

    Hey Lindsey!

It was great meeting you at Stitches Midwest! It gave me the chance to feel how wonderful the LB Collection yarns are, and it was nice to have someone appreciate my crochet jewelry necklace. Which made me think – you could probably string beads on the Wool Stainless Steel yarn and make some awesome jewelry that way!

    Thanks again!

Lindsey says: Hi Laura, It was great meeting you too! I definitely plan on doing some beaded crochet chain necklaces with Wool Stainless Steel. I will probably hold two different colored strands together for an interesting look. When you make your necklaces we’d love to see them! Submit them to our Customer Gallery or share them on Ravelry or Facebook!

It was great being neighbors with you guys at stitches! Our youngest blanketeer is still talking about how Kendra and Lindsey from Lion Brand were helping her with her knitting.

    Thanks again!

Trying to locate pattern for Anita’s Vanna’s Glamour scarf. Looks nice. But after trying several places, still nada….Help!

Zontee says: Hi Patty, as it says in the blog post under the slide show, unless a pattern’s name is specified in the caption, it is NOT one of our patterns and unfortunately we don’t know where the customer got it. However, we DO have a ton of Vanna’s Glamour scarf patterns that are great; click here to see them.

Was it here i saw the picture of premie hats being made? Comment I’ve had to measure lots of babies heads and for a normal newborn we get anywhere from 11 inches to 14, most 12 1/2 to 13 3/4. Also if the band if not stretchy it can be much to tight. It really needs to be able to stretch. Nurses and moms love the pretty colors and well made hats. Please finish them off as you would for one of your own-weave in those end make sure the item won’t unravel. We find more girl hats come in than boys. We are usually short on boy hats. Thanks to all those that make hats for babies big ones and the littlest ones they are a big help.

Zontee says: Hi Pat, you are probably referring to this blog post which is two blog posts back from the one you just commented on.

    Hi Lindsey,
My new yarn arrived yesterday (you helped me pick it out at Stitches Midwest). Now I have to decide which to use first – I’m leaning toward the woodland stripes, in hopes that it soon will be cooler. thanks again, Sharon
