What do you do at Lion Brand?
I work in the marketing department and get to do a lot of really different things—from contacting press to staying connected on Facebook. I get to work on the Catalog, put patterns on the web, and of course blog about interesting Yarniverse happenings here.

When did you start working at Lion Brand?
I started in September 2008.

What do you do when you’re not working at Lion Brand?
Usually too much! I am studying psychology and communications. I volunteer on a research team where I get to work with 3-4 year olds and also volunteer at a college prep program for disabled high school students. Luckily that leaves enough time on train rides and watching TV to knit and crochet!

What is your favorite thing about working at Lion Brand?
Do I have to pick just one? I love being surrounded by a wonderful group of people who are both great at what they do and fun to work with! I also love watching as seemingly little things I do connect to so many people, like posting something to Facebook that hundreds of people comment on.

What is your first yarn memory?
In high school, I loved sewing and crafts, so my mom’s best friend taught me how to knit. She loved interesting novelty yarns, but unfortunately I couldn’t see my stitches and would end up with more and more each row. I got frustrated by not understanding how everything worked. That scarf ended up on the needles until I finally learned to knit all over again in college.
