About Liz

When did you start working at LBY?
I joined the LBY design department staff in August of 2006.

What do you do at LB?
My official title is “design coordinator” which means I work on all the design department’s projects – from putting together the catalogs and fashion shows to making sure patterns get to our website for everyone to use. But the best part of my job is developing new yarns to add to the Lion Brand line!

What kind of yarn-crafter are you?
I both knit and crochet, but am primarily an obsessive knitter. My favorite projects are socks because they are portable, interesting enough to be challenging but small enough that I’ll actually finish them.

What do you do when you’re not working at LB?
Play with my bunnies! I have more interests than time (knitting, yoga, vegan cooking & baking, spinning yarn, reading, drawing, sewing, and I would love to learn more about quilting and electronics…) but I always make time for games and cuddles with my two urban house-buns.

What is your work area like?
My cubicle is the messy one in the design department. Yarn development involves a shocking amount of cardboard boxes full of color references, fiber samples, swatches, and of course, yarn samples. More yarn than you can imagine. Since I’m a pack-rat who is able to see the beauty and utility in the smallest fluff of fiber or strangest ball of yarn, things get a little crowded around my desk.
