What do you do at Lion Brand?
I am The Brand Ambassador for the company. I do a lot of the videos on the Lion Brand Youtube Channel like, yarn informational videos as well as talking about crafting and My new web series Tea With Shira.  I also go out and speak to different knitting and crochet guilds, high schools and colleges across the United States and inform them about Lion Brand Yarn.

When did you start working at Lion Brand?
Well it depends who you ask.  If you ask me, on days that I didn’t have school (when I was  probably around 5) I would come in and be my father, David Blumenthal assistant’s assistant.  But some people may not count that so, I officially started working at Lion Brand on  February 4th, 2013 at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio.  While I was there I had the chance to work on my knitting and crocheting skills.  I also taught arm knitting and Beginning knitting to children and adults.

What is your favorite thing about working at Lion Brand?
Being able to say I am a 5th generation family member of this company–a place that I have dreamed of working for since I can remember.

What do you do when you’re not working at Lion Brand?
I love to spend time with my family, I am very close with my parents.  I have two older brothers who are married and they both have children.  So in total I am Aunt times three!  I Love to knit and spoil my nephews and my niece rotten and I knit things for them all the time.  I might head up to the mountain for a weekend of skiing, or maybe a weekend of dancing with my friends.  I have two cats that I have had since they were kittens and they love yarn as much as I do!

What is your earliest yarn memory?
When I used to come to work with my father Lily Chin would sometimes stop by.  Not only did she show me how to use a french knitter but I learned one of the most important skills I know from her…how to tie my shoes!  She may be the fastest crocheter but she sure is one good teacher on how to tie your shoes!  I still got the skills!
