6 Ideas For Making Fast, Inexpensive Gifts When You Have A Big List

For those of you have a very big list of people to appreciate this year, here are some ideas that will allow you to customize gifts and make them special without having to spend too much time or money. These are combination gifts that include a little handmade and a little storebought.

1. Washcloths are something everyone can use. They are fast and easy to make and you can personalize the colors. You can purchase small basket and fill it with a couple of washcloths, a bar of scented soap and wrap in a clear cellphane.

2. You can make an especially feminine version of a gift set perfect for harsh winter weather by placing washcloths in a box, tied with a ribbon and add lip balm and a travel size of hand cream or some antibacterial towelettes to ward off winter germs.

3. For the cooks on your list, put together a collection of potholders and add a spatula, wooden spoon and a bottle of the person’s favorite spice.

4. For those who like to decorate for the holidays, try combining a crocheted coaster set or knit table runner with a carved or scented candle.

5. Combine a little hand-made purse for kids or adults and add a selection of their favorite candy.

6. Little sachets in sparkling Vanna’s Glamour can hold miniature goodies of all kinds from soap to candy to potpourri.

Small but special gifts:
Amigurimis can be stuffed with catnip for your friend’s kitties, or potpourri for humans. Make a figure to reflect something about the person, or use holiday themed figures.

I am making all my family crochet hats in the colors of their favorite football team. I am using several patterns so it doesn’t get boring and they will be able to tell whose hat is whose.

I know that some young women like to give beauty items from brands like e.l.f. (that’s eyes – lips – face). They have decent products (some are better than others) for crazy affordable prices, and killer sales on top of that. You could make a nice little makeup bag or pouch and put some lip glosses or whatever your friend would like inside. Add a pretty brooch on the front for an extra special touch!

I liked the artical on all the face,bath and dish cloths.. BUT .. the one I liked best is the bath mitt shown in the title picture. Is there a free pattern for the yellow bath mitt ?? thanks Diane G.

One year I was in a guild with a gift swap party, and I bought two cobalt blue wine glasses and crocheted two lace coasters in matching royal blue thread with white borders. The recipient loved them.

I’ve added crocheted snowflake ornaments to gift bags in place of a bow, that the recipient could add to her tree. Also other knitted ornaments like tiny knit stockings.

For the electronically minded, iPod and cellphone cases, which could be customized with initials or other decorations to reflect the personality of the recipient.

Matching headband and neck warmer in the recipient’s favourite colours.

When ever i want to buy a gift i simply go for the. nearest store and buy some articles as gits. i never think to make any gifts in my home. i know that it save my money very much but it`s take too much time for the selecting and making the proper items for some one.
