The Children’s Museum of the Arts held their second annual street fair last weekend and Lion Brand Yarn was there to share in the fun. We had a booth set up for kids to learn finger knitting and weaving on a homemade cardboard loom. The event was very successful. From my estimation I would say there were at least 2,000 children and adults at the event with a long line at the Lion Brand booth the whole day! Both girls and boys were interested in the make and take projects and all of the kids were motivated to stay and complete their projects.
Learn to weave on a cardboard loom!
My favorite booth (other than ours, of course) was CMA’s yarn booth. They had someone using a drill gun to wrap small sections of yarn around pieces of cardboard. The kids each got one and took to the streets where they wrapped their yarn around objects to form a colorful maze of yarn that even Spiderman would envy.
Our team was also really excited to get the word out there about our beauteous Studio and the variety of classes we offer. We hope to see some of the faces from the street fair in the Studio to learn more soon!
