Inspiration

The stunning and unusual color work of this piece is inspired by Alexandra’s drive – each section emblematic of a part of the country. If you’ve made a cross-country drive, you know that day by day, the landscape morphs dramatically! She drove from the West Coast eastward, beginning at the Pacific Ocean, making her way first through mountains. Then she reached the Great Plains, endless fields and farms. “Finally,” she writes, “the arrival into the sparkling city that never sleeps.” You can see each of these elements, contrasting one another but making a beautiful whole.

Supplies You’ll Need

Your Knit Kit will include the following:

•  A black & white copy of the Coast to Coast Wrap Pattern
• 2 Balls of Wool-Ease Yarn in Natural Heather
• 1 Ball of Wool-Ease Yarn in Cocoa
• 1 Ball of Touch of Alpaca Yarn in Oxford Grey
• 2 Balls of Touch of Alpaca Yarn in Navy
• 1 Ball of Touch of Alpaca Yarn in Charcoal

You’ll also need:

• Circular Needles Size 10 (6mm)
• Split Ring Stitch Markers
• Stitch Holders
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles

Skills You’ll Need

This pattern is a Level 3 – Intermediate level pattern. You’ll need to be able to do the knit stitch, purl stitch, slip stitch, as well as read a color chart, change colors, and b able to pick up and knit stitches.
