If you’re a big fan of denim, then you’ve got to try our Jeans yarns. We have options with or without the cotton content, depending on what kind of project you’re working on. And our Jeans Yarn family is growing. In addition to our classic Jeans Yarn, we now offer Jeans Colors and Cotton Jeans as well. They’re soft, versatile, and you’re guaranteed to whip up a piece you love just as much as your favorite pair. For details & free patterns, read on below.
Our original Jeans Yarn comes in 7 classic colors, so you’ll definitely find your favorite ‘wash’. There’s even a Topstitch color way, so you can get that quintessential seamed denim look. Because it’s a 100% acrylic yarn, it’s ultra-durable, and will withstand the test of time. It’s remarkably soft, so much so that one reviewer commented: “more comfy than your ten-year-old pair of Levis!” So knit or crochet your way into your new go-to denim-inspired look.
The Kassidy Scarf (Knit) features three of the best denim hues: Brand New, Stonewash, and Faded. Another multi-toned project is the High Plains Cardigan (Knit). Whatever the color of your favorite pair of jeans, this cardigan will pair well with any and all of them. Finally, for a look inspired by the denim vibes of the American West, see the San Antonio Vest (Knit). All of these pieces would add some traditional, versatile blues to your wardrobe.
Our Granny Square Skirt (Crochet) will have you ready for the resurgence of the granny square trend. But this adorable skirt does that look in an understated way, by emphasizing universal blue colors. One of the most universal blues is Sapphire, our August Color of the Year. The Tivoli Tunic (Crochet) features just such a blue, and can be worn over leggings or lighter-hued jeans. Our Easy Crochet Shrug (Crochet) would make a perfect first garment, because the finishing will be straightforward, and you’ll want to wear it over everything.
Nowadays, denim comes in every color. So we expanded our lovable Jeans Yarn into Jeans Colors, too! The same softness and durability you love in our classic Jeans Yarn, now in 5 bold colors. And just like the original, Jeans Colors is 100% acrylic, making it cozy for all ages to wear.
If you’re crafting for grownups, then here are three fun knit patterns to take advantage of the expanded color options of Jeans Colors. The Half and Half Scarf (Knit) would be perfect if paired with the Girls Ribbed Hat (Knit). Both are made with the Bermuda Shorts color, which will brighten your winter ensemble. Our Textured Top (Knit) is a more autumnal hue, and you could definitely dress it up or down.
We have two fun patterns to crochet with this Jeans variation, the New Direction Granny Afghan (Crochet) and the Decatur Cowl (Crochet). This afghan is certainly cozy, and also very stylish. Granny squares might be in this season, but any crafter knows they never went out. Our Decatur Cowl (Crochet) is adorable with any fall outfit.
For a more traditional denim feel, opt for our LB Collection Cotton Jeans Yarn. We say this yarn has a more ‘traditional’ denim feel because of the cotton content. Unlike our other Jeans yarns, this one is 100% cotton. We’ll have patterns to offer soon, so stay tuned.
For all the denim lovers out there (and really, who isn’t?), we hope you’ll find a new favorite fiber to craft with in our Jeans Yarns. Let us know in the comments if you love to craft with one of these already; we’d love to hear which is your favorite! Bonus points if you pair your favorite project with your favorite pair of denim pants.

I used three of the jeans yarn to make three crocheted wraps for my niece and sister-in-law; they turned out beautiful – so soft and with hint of other hue – beautiful. Thanks,
Kathy Berlinghieri
What is the weight of this yarn? My one complaint with the website is that yarn weights are not readily available–I have to hunt for them!!
