Another 14 Top Patterns for our 140th Anniversary

Lion Brand is turning 140 this year, so we just had to find the perfect way to celebrate. For the past month, we’ve been counting down our top 140 patterns, and we’re not done yet! This is the roundup for weeks 5 & 6 featuring another 14 top patterns. Follow us on Instagram and check out the hashtag #LBY140! Another 14 Top Patterns

Week 5 features many blankets and cozy items for around the home. Plus two equally lovely but very different tops. When we get into week six, it’s all about getting your wardrobe ready for fall. Check out the 7 amazing tops & accessories that will have you feeling stylish just in time for cooler weather.

Week 5

To start, we have some beautiful blankets for your home. Our Cabled Baby Blanket (Knit) is made with our soft Ice Cream Yarn, which means it’s sure to become a favorite. Next is the Bird Song Afghan (Knit), which would make a gorgeous gift – think wedding, anniversary, or housewarming. And then the Animal Talk Throw Pattern (Knit), which is the sweetest educational throw.

These two very different and lovely tops make an appearance in week five. Our Serenity Draped Vest (Crochet Kit) is a wonderful topper by Make & Do Crew. With a blend of beautiful autumnal colors, you can pop this on over almost anything all fall season long. Then we have the Bettie Cardigan (Crochet), which is something entirely different. You get a structure that could be business casual with the right bottom, but with a geometric open weave that is demurely flirtatious.

Two colorful projects round out our top 14 patterns for Week 5. The Granny Afghan / Shawl (Crochet Kit) lives up to its name, and can be used as a cozy blanket or a warm shawl. Finally, the Curl-Up Kitty Cat Bed (Crochet) would be just about right for any pet who wants to snuggle up.

Week 6

Not one but three cute cardigans show up on our week 6 list! The Midtown Cardigan (Knit Kit) may be pictured here in a pop-of-color marigold, but it’s available in two other more neutral hues. Our Neighborly Cardigan (Knit) was inspired by Mr. Rogers – click here to read a previous post about the project! Third, the My First Raglan Cardigan Pattern (Knit) is a classic cardigan shape, but in a bold autumn hue. Maybe one of these cardigans will inspire you to try out a warm yellow in your wardrobe!

Another two toppers from week 6 have slightly less formal structure. The Patchwork Poncho (Knit) is a very fun statement piece, but the colors are well-chosen so it will fit into any closet. Or, there’s the Pink Popover (Crochet). This over-sized popover is complete with big pompoms and a hood, so you’ll never want to take it off.

Last but not least, two blue-ish projects to finish up this installment of our 14 top patterns. The Blue Mesa Tunic (Crochet) is made with Shawl in a Cake, which is soft to craft with and to wear. Finally, we have the Easy Shaped Shawl (Knit). This is definitely a piece you’ll reach for over and over again, because it’s a great transitional option.
