Aran sweaters with cables galore are a classic knit staple. Drawing inspiration from these gorgeous sweaters, Gearoid Muldowney of the Irish design studio, Superfolk, has created a series of reversible knit and leather Aran laptop bags. It’s so neat to see how they’ve taken this knit style that is traditional in Ireland and incorporated it in a modern way.
If you’re as inspired to try your hand at some classic aran cables as I am, I hope you’ll try your hand at them. Consider checking out our beautiful Cabled Cowl pattern below, a great, warm accessory for both men and women.

Wow, i’d love hte pattern for the bag! that is gorgeous!
Zontee says: Hi Ardosa, sorry, we don’t have a pattern for the bag, as it’s a one-of-a-kind creation from the design studio mentioned above and it is actually fully lined with leather so that it’s reversible, but we’re glad that you’re inspired by it.

The bag is gorgeous. I’m with Adrosa and would love the bag but even though I could knit it, I would’t be able to sew the leather edging. Maybe I’ll have to do the cowl pattern and modify it some way into a bag without the leather part. well that is after all my other projects that need to be done are done. I’ve feeling quite adventurous after my Inishturk sweater *smile* which I loved making.
