Thank you so much for teaching this method so clearly. Not only do I learn a new technique, it makes knitting with needles easier to understand. I have always struggled with the space between the needles because I could never make my stitches consistently even. Now, not only do I know why that happened, I can make the necessary adjustment to make my stitches even and consistent.

I love the idea of arm knitting, but so far all the videos I’ve seen are done by people with very small arms (at least compared to mine) and it makes a huge difference in the way the scarf looks ie terrible. Any suggestions for compensating for this effect?

Hi Kelios! Have you tried arm knitting yet? You arm size shouldn’t make a huge difference as long as you are creating snug stitches. Think of your arms as knitting needles or crochet hooks, the larger they are the bigger the gaps will be in your work. I would imagine that if you feel the spaces are too large you could compensate for that by using super bulky yarn and adding in an additional strand (working with 3 strands at once or maybe 4) that might help alleviate the gap size. Hope this helps!

Hi, sorry I missed this. I have tried arm knitting, and the size of my arms appears to affect gauge (just like needle size would) which affects the finished project of course. In addition, even when I knit snugly the stitches come out much larger, which makes the piece look sloppy (to me anyway). Adding extra yarn changes the gauge and finished look of the project as well. I think this is just not something I can do, unfortunately.
