Occasionally you stumble across a pattern that begs to be started immediately. The Baja Blanket Sweater from Mama in a Stitch was such a design for the Lion Brand staff! No sooner had the PDF arrived that four projects were eagerly begun.
The Baja Blanket Sweater in the “Original – Baja” colorway
Looking at the photos you can probably guess why we were so drawn to the Baja Blanket Sweater. It’s completely wearable across seasons and can work with multiple wardrobe styles. Also a huge plus, the easy shape and construction is doable for busy schedules. The main portion of the sweater is worked without shaping, so you can tuck it into your bag and drag it out on your commute (as long as you have space for 4 balls of yarn). When you get to the finishing you’ll need a little more space to lay the piece out, but even that part moves right along.
The original colorway of the sweater (shown above) is beautiful, but we were excited to explore other combinations. With 24 colors of New Basic 175 to choose from, the possibilities seemed endless. And they were all gorgeous.
It was a hard decision, but in the end we put together five of our favorite color combinations and are offering them to you as a kit (5 skeins of yarn and pattern). Which will you chose?
Baja (Original): Cream, Café au Lait, Camel, Espresso
Uptown Girl: Whisper, Peony, Charcoal, Gray
Country Garden: Espresso, Café au Lait, Olive, Plum
Seascape: Ice, Thyme, Petrol Blue, Juniper
Woodland: Cream, Olive, Thyme, Café au Lait
