Beat the Chill with these 8 Fast-Finish Projects!

The first week of the New Year has come and gone, and we’re back to the daily grind. And if that’s not enough, many places have been experiencing unusually cold weather! If you’re looking at the daily temperature thinking, ‘This might be my first sick-day of 2018…’ we’ve got some patterns to keep you company. Beat the chill with these fast-finish projects, and get your craft on while keeping warm inside.

We’ve rounded up 8 cute patterns to carry you through this cold snap, as you’re clicking ‘Next Episode’ on Netflix the next couple weeks. Knit and crochet, from our own site & Ravelry, we’ve scoured for stylish ideas we think you’ll love, and hope will be some of your first projects this year.

Textured Hat (Crochet)

This cute toque, the Textured Hat, works up in one skein of Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. Stick with an elegant neutral, like the Grey Marble pictured above, or get creative with your color choice!

Easy Split Cowl (Crochet)

For a neck-warmer to spruce up your winterized wardrobe, what about the Easy Split Cowl? This pattern is written for Homespun Thick & Quick, but you could substitute any Super Bulky yarn in your stash.

If the weather where you live has been cold, but not unbearable, this might be a stylish winter look for you! The Barley Ridge Earwarmer is a free pattern on Ravelry, courtesy of EyeLoveKnots Blogger Alexandra Richards. She’s worked it up in Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, & we’re loving it!

Saturday Slippers by Jess Coppom

If you’re open to a project with a little bit of extra footwork (ha!), check out these adorable slippies from the Make and Do Crew. Their Saturday Slippers pattern is free on Ravelry, and while it’s sized for the guys, they’re definitely one to steal for chilly mornings. Please be advised, there are some extra steps required to complete this comfy look!

Earflap Hat (Knit)

This. Is. Everything! The Earflap Hat is where it’s at, if you like to greet the cold with a sense of humor. Worked in two colors of our Jumbo Wow! yarn, this one knits up in a jiffy.

Bun Hat (Knit)

Are you rocking a topknot no matter what the calendar says, take a look at the Bun Hat. You’ll be working in New Basic, one of our fan-favorites, and check out that sweet little cinch at the top!

Fast and Curious Pulse Warmers by ZKbird

Cassee shared these Pulse Warmers on Ravelry, which she worked up in our Jeans Yarn in Stovepipe. We love this look, they’re great for doodling on your phone (even outside), and it’s fun to work in fingering weight in the wintertime.

Mittens for Everyone (Knit)

For full hand coverage, in colors to put a bright spot in any gray winter day, see the Mittens for Everyone. Pictured in Color Waves Yarn, in Color A, these would be attractive in any bright hue.
