Hometown Hat Pattern KnitMy mother is the type of person who wants to have all of her Christmas presents purchased before October. She has recently gotten back into crocheting after a 20+ year break from it, so she’s excited to learn everything I can tell her about stitches, fibers, and all things yarn-related. While talking to her on the phone, I mentioned our newest yarn, Hometown USA. Her thoughts immediately went to her almost finished Christmas list.

“Do you have Pittsburgh Steelers colors? I want to make my sister a striped scarf.” I recommended that she try Pittsburgh Yellow with Oakland Black. “How about Cleveland Browns colors? You could make your cousin Bryan a hat.” I quickly suggested Cleveland Brown and Syracuse Orange. Now I have to send her the yarn so that she can finish all of her Christmas crafting.

  • I don’t see anything I can use for the current Philadelphia Eagle green 🙁

Zontee says: Hi phillygirl64, see how you can make your own Eagles scarf with these directions from Michelle K. of Craft Mag.

  • Sadly, there is no Jacksonville Teal.

  • Thanks, but my comment was more about the lack of the appropriate green…I might still try that scarf, adapting it to crochet 😉

Zontee says: Gotcha, well, as you can see from those directions, Michelle used colors from Vanna’s Choice, another easy-care yarn, and there are two greens (Loden & Forest Green) that would be good in Wool-Ease. You should definitely be able to adapt that pattern to crochet. Same idea of using the chart when you get to the point where you want the pattern.

  • I was wondering which hat pattern this is? I would love to make a few of these for the holidays.

Zontee says: Hi Molly, photos that have an orange border are clickable. In this case, clicking on the photo would take you to the pattern, the Hometown Hat.
