Community Spotlight: Scarves Galore

Welcome to Community Spotlight, where we’ll be showing you highlights from our Community Gallery. To be featured in the gallery, simply post a picture of your Lion Brand creations to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #lionbrandyarn. We’ll be choosing some of our favorites to post to the blog.

Scarfie® is one of our more popular yarns — and for good reason! It is a nice category 5 yarn that comes in a lot of really interesting colors. The yarn is designed to create an ombré look as you knit or crochet, making all of your pieces extra beautiful. Plus, with 312 yards per skein, most scarves can be made with just one ball! Even larger projects like garments or blankets don’t require as many skeins as you’d need in other yarns. That can save you time and money, plus there are fewer ends to weave in!

We’ve featured Scarfie® in the Community Spotlight before, but today we want to highlight it for its namesake purpose — scarves! Sure, you can make anything out of this yarn, but for now let’s stick with the classics.

I’m setting loose a free-through-11/25 pattern today: Feather Reversible Chevron Scarf. One last scarf to send off to Haley and one last post showing the mixed cluster stitch, I promise. But I think my theory of any size 5 weight yarn working with this stitch is right on.
