Well, this is it. Our last post. It’s been fun, hasn’t it? But now the sweater is finished and ready to go. If you’re still assembling it, there’s no rush, but you have a comfy and versatile piece to look forward to wearing.
Over in the Ravelry group, we’ve got a thread of people’s finished sweaters going already, so come share and show off your work when you’re done!
If you haven’t already, it’s time to get that sweater put together.
Once you’ve set in the sleeves and done the neck band, which I did last week, the rest of the assembly is pretty straightforward. Since it’s a long sweater, the sides can be time consuming, but they are just basic seams.
This is a sweater that looks great worn a lot of different ways. It can be casual, dressy, or even office-appropriate. It looks good over jeans, leggings, dresses, or skirts, and can be worn open or belted. I’ve already gotten tons of use out of mine, and I know it’s going to be a staple in my wardrobe for a long time.
Here I tried it open, over a black pencil skirt and tee, and it worked great. Since my sweater is also dark, I added a pop of color with my tights, but your mileage may vary depending on what color yarn you used.
It’s also great super casual! I’m wearing it with basic jeans and a graphic tee with sneakers. It adds a little bit of extra style to a pretty simple outfit.
It also works great belted. I’m just wearing it over black leggins and a plain top, so the sweater can really be the focus. Of course, all black under a black sweater makes for tricky at-home photography, but you get the idea. With the simplicity of the outfit, I decided to add a statement necklace. Chunky bracelets would also work well since its designed to have shorter sleeves.
Finally, I put it on over a swing dress and leggings. I’ve been wearing that dress a LOT since I got it, because it’s stylish while still being so loose and comfy that I feel like I’m in my pajamas, so it was the perfect time to throw on my sweater. You can really add this piece to practically any outfit, and it will look great.
Well, curvy friends, that’s it for this KAL! I’ve had a really great time sharing progress with you, and I hope you have too! The Ravelry group is going to stay up, so please join and chat, even if you’re just starting the piece.
