Introducing Pinterest, a Great Resource for Crafters

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Yarncrafting inspiration comes from so many different sources: colors, textures, drape, shapes, and more. Now there’s a way to create a virtual moodboard: Pinterest, a fun social network that’s a helpful resource for crafters.

Essentially, Pinterest allows you to curate different boards of images. This is perfect for bookmarking yarncrafting patterns, yarns you wish to purchase in the future, and motivational photographs. What I really love about Pinterest is that you can include a link to the original source, so you’ll always be able to track down your inspiration.

On the Lion Brand Pinterest page, we’ve been pinning both traditional craft patterns and more whimsical photographs, like this amazing sheep manicure:

I also have a particular affinity for classic Hollywood, so I’ve combined my love for film and yarncrafting into a board of actresses knitting and crocheting!

You can follow along with us by visiting our Pinterest page and clicking the “Follow All” button directly below our logo. We look forward to seeing what inspires you!

  • Too bad you can’t just get a Pinrest login… Hopefully I’ll be able to join soon.  I’ve already found some neat stuff there.

    • I received my invite almost immediately, so hopefully you’ll get yours very soon! 🙂

  • I love Pinterest  =)

  • Yes!  I love Pinterest and pinning Lion brand patterns that I want to remember.  I’m so glad you are joining in the fun :O)  I’m already following you.

  • have to have an invite too- cannot get in with just facebook

  • I have a Hollywood actor knitting picture I think you need:  http://pinterest.com/pin/222294931576779037/

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

  • I’ve been on Pinterest for a couple of months. Fun!

  • You need to add pictures of Vanna, Julia Roberts, and Tyne Daly ;o)

  • I enjoy Pinterest, can spend hours there,

  • I’m interested.  I’d like to know how to get in.  Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Actress Joanne Woodward (wife of Paul Newman) knits.  There is a photograph of both of them together and she is knitting.

  • What a great place! There are so many “pins” already that you almost don’t even have to look outside this site for great pins for your own boards. I love it! Definitely an idea whose time has come.

  • So is it a Facebook thing or what? I don’t use my FB to log in to
anything…ever…and I hate sites that force you to do that.  Is this
one of those?? I went to the pinterest website following the above link and it took me to a page saying I had to allow access via my FB page.

Also, I’m wondering is anyone else is having problems.  It’s making me leave my comment at a guest.  I have a Lion Brand account.  So I go to the upper right corner and click on “log in” and it takes me to a Word Press log in page.  But if I just go to my Lion Brand page I’m already signed in.  So I keep the signed in page up and open and refresh this page so that it shows me as logged in.  Nope.  I click on log in again and it’s the same thing… Word Press log in.  I’m so confused…
