Here in New York City, the Lion Brand Yarn Studio hosts a monthly get together for men who knit and crochet – all skill levels welcome!
Hosted by Darrin Morris, it’s a great group for beginners who want support and inspiration from their fellow men. If you live in the New York City area, rsvp to join in the fun!
For those of you not in New York City, tell us about the knitting and crocheting groups for men in your area in the comments below.

Yes, there is a men’s knit night. It’s in St. Paul, Minnesota at The Yarnery. I used to talk to a man while my son was in violin lessons, he was there waiting for his wife (she taught). I believe he said it was every Wednesday or Friday, I forget now.

A new yarn store here, Yarn Stories, has craft night on Thursdays from 6-8 PM. There are 2 couples who come. One man does gorgeous petit point, doing earth, air, fire & water as wizards. The other is currently making knit caps for his nephews, but when he travels for business and is attending large meetings, he knits during the meetings.

Every Wednesday morning at Maccabi club on Bury Old Road, Manchester, England a group of women of all ages meet to knit and crochet. We make garments for the needy in the community, lap blankets for wheelchair users, blankets are sent to the Ukrain for the poor community and hats for babies in Africa. So far no men have joined in The Big Knit but we would welcome them.
