This is Marie from Underground Crafter and I can’t believe it’s my last visit with you for the Hummingbird Hat and Baby Bird Blanket Knit-a-Long! There’s still plenty of time to join in (and enter to win the end-of-KAL prizes). You can get all the details here.
Remember last week I mentioned a surprise? Even though this KAL is supposed to include just two patterns, for the Hummingbird Hat (in 12 sizes) and the Baby Bird Blanket (in 3 sizes), I had one more pattern up my sleeve! The Bird Tracks Beanie (in 4 sizes) uses the same stitch pattern from the Baby Bird Blanket.
You can make your Bird Tracks Beanie with the Heartland yarn you used for your Hummingbird Hat by switching the Main and Contrasting Colors.
If you plan to donate one of your hats to Knots of Love, a California-based charity that distributes thousands of handmade hats and blankets to people suffering from traumatic hair loss and to infants in neonatal intensive care units every month, be sure to follow their donation guidelines.
And, if you’re still looking for more great projects to donate to Knots of Love, here are seven free knitting and crochet patterns in Lion Brand Jeans and Jeans Colors, two more ultra soft and squishy, easy care yarns on the Knots of Love approved yarn list.
