London Kaye Crochet Hooks + A Giveaway!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
We’re thrilled to be working with London Kaye, NYC-based yarn-bombing goddess. We love all the new ideas she’s bringing to Lion Brand! From her colorful and durable new yarn, to her inspired Theme Packs, she’s all about bringing a smile to your day. But one of our favorite collaborations by far has been her brilliant crochet hooks.
Learn more about her brilliant hooks, and enter to win a giveaway prize!

London’s Crochet Hooks

London Kaye crochets all day. So who better to craft the perfect crochet hook? She’s combined all her dream features to make these hooks totally unique.

The most noticeable feature is the major twist! Just at the base of the hook itself, the handle begins a 180º curve, making it perfectly ergonomic. She designed it for maximum comfort, so you’ll hold the hook with less gripping. You’ll be able to craft longer and more efficiently, meaning you’ll see your finished products more quickly!

London’s Hook Set

The blue hook is her favorite: “the bigger the hook, the faster it goes!”

London Kaye Hook Set

While she often reaches for her blue hook, she knows you can’t do everything with just one size. That’s why she’s created two smaller hooks, to make sure you can tackle every project with one set! Her Hook Set features a Large Blue Hook (20MM), the Medium Pink Hook (11.5MM), and a Small Green Hook (9MM). For any of London’s Theme Packs, you’ll need all three, so her Hook Set is your best bet.

Intrigued? You can hop on over to your local JOANN store and pick up London’s crochet hooks. Or, if there’s no location near you, make your way to JOANN.com and find all of London Kaye’s hooks, yarn and theme packs on their site!

  • What a beautiful set of hooks! They look like they would be very easy to use when you have arthritis. Love to win the prize package!

  • Hi Ms. London, it is funny that you are featuring these new hooks….I have arthritis in just about all of my joints and the straight hooks have been hurting my hand….before being hospitalized in mid Feb. I had started a baby blanket that I just can’t seem to get back to from the pains….if I don’t get pick perhaps you can tell me where to get them at…..keep on stitching….

  • I’d love to give them a try.

  • I would love to win this so I can try a larger yarn crochet project..

  • I’ve never used one of these hooks, but I would to try them! The look so comfortable to use!

  • It would be great to try a hook that’s supposed to be ergonomic! I’ve tried adding grips off all sorts, but since injuring my arms a few years ago, it’s a rare thing I can get more than 2 rounds on even a small project before I’m in pain and surgery isn’t an option. I’ve never seen the before, so I really hope they go to someone who needs an ergonomic hook and will write a review from the view of someone in need of a specialty hook. Furls hooks are beautiful and clearly high quality, but most of us can’t afford even their cheapest line options.

  • I would love to try these. I’m am looking for a set of hooks that I can use without hand and wrist pain. How much are they?

  • Hi. My name is Vivi. I live in Indonesia. I’m a beginner crocheter. This is my story about London. I first begin to know her from Google when I search about “Yarn Bomb” I amazed with the work London did. I feel so excited to see London’s website and Instagram full of her yarn bombing town since it’s not familiar here in Indonesia to install such beautiful crochet grafitti. Since that, London became my idol and I always visit her social media everytime I need inspiration for my crochet project. She’s my faboulous yarn bomber queen ever. Then, I really want to follow her habit too, on what yarn or what hook size she choose for her works. Then thanks God, a few past months before, she told us in her social media that she use Lion Brand yarns and hooks for her works. Luckily she also collaborated with Lion Brand to make her own yarn and hook, I was so happy to know that! So because of my great curiousity I bought one skein of LKYC yarn (I choose Pop Rocks color!) from Lion Brand website and waiting for 2 weeks (because it’s International shipping) and after the post man give me my package, I was so excited. And just like I expected, the yarn is so soft but have persistent characteristic. I love it so much. I wish I can have more LKYC yarns and can crochet it using the London Kaye Hook. Thank you so much Lion Brand, for collaborating with London, so I can experincing crocheting using same yarn as London. Love from me in Indonesia!

  • I have been demonically possessed to crochet for years and years – it’s my antidote to snacking and my occupational therapy to help me recover from a small stroke I had in 2016, (I’m considered 99% recovered from paralysis on my left side) . My left hand, initially, was useless. I started back crocheting “Plarn” from grocery bags into coasters, and I recently graduated back to making throws in double crochet open shell patterns as my strength and control returned. These hooks caught my interest when I first saw them in the store, as hand fatigue can still be a problem, and I would really appreciate an opportunity to try a project with them . I am proof in the value of crafts not only for metal well-being, but for making people feel whole again after a life-altering event, and I’ve shared my experiences on social media among my fellow stroke survivors.

I would love to have a set of the London Kaye hooks. My hands tire easily and I am just getting back into crocheting. London has some fun and cute design packs I would love to try! I had forgotten how much fun crocheting is and I hope I win so I can teach my daughter and my oldest granddaughter how to crochet so they can carry on the tradition when I am gone. Thank you,

  • I am so happy there are great patterns to crochet with these large hooks. The “Q” hook has been around for over 20 years or more. Great to have different sizes.

  • Pick me – please

  • Wow, these look great, my hands are not as young as they use to be, they get stif and sore if I crochet to much these days, These needles look like they would be so much easier to use. I would love to try them out, WIN.

    Thank you

  • I just picked up my crochet hook to make chemo caps for family and friends using Landscapes yarn. These look like they would be very pleasant to use. Congratulations to the lucky winner (maybe me?)

  • Wow! So pretty look so comfortable to use!

  • Looks like another “gotta have it” tool!

  • These look like fun to use! As a newerish (3years) and young person that crochets, I’ve never used any thing besides the metal hooks my mom started me on. I absolutely love crocheting and when I am in between project, I feel lost.

  • I lost a lot of my crochet hooks in a house fire. These would be a great new start.

  • Thanks for offering such a cool item. Looks comfortable to use. Helpful with carpal tunnel, I am sure.

  • Would love to win this!

  • I LOVE this brand hook! I am blind/visually impaired and love using bigger hooks and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO TRY THESE!! Vision Loss and these hooks could be a perfect match!! I soooo want to try them!!!

  • Would love to try these hooks, with arthritic hands would love to try these!

  • Perfect find. My friend and I were just talking about looking for new hooks with a better grip.

  • What a brilliant idea! The twist and broader handle would make crocheting with London’s so much more comfortable. I usually lnit, which is much less ergonomic. With these hooks, cricheting for hours would be even easier.

  • These are the most amazing looking crochet hooks!

  • I love to crochet and will love to keep crocheting with these needles. As a matter of fact I can’t wait to use the hooks to start creating with them.

  • I mentioned my finding of London Kaye work to may 19th year old and her eyes grew big in excitement. You know about her? I guess I can be modern and hip. Thank you London Kaye. I can’t wait to try out one of her projects.

  • I enjoy all of the creativity and fun ideas that London Kaye comes up with, it reminds me of Andy Warhol. If I were to win, I’d choose the Water World theme pack, because I _love_ under the sea, and I’ve always wanted to make an Earth applique and out it on a reusable bag.

  • These hooks are too cute!

  • I am a big crochet lover and would love to win a set of hooks!

  • I love the London Eye!!!! I’m thinking of making 4 (two with lashes & two without), then crocheting one with & one without together stuffed with polyester to make a pillow. I’ll do the same with the remaining two (for another pillow) and place them side by side at the head of a girl’s bed…..like anyone entering the room is being watched! The hooks look absolutely awesome! I simply MUST try them!

  • These look as if they would be easier on the hands and wrist, with having carpel tunnel problems. Any thing that would help me crochet, and fill my need to relax with no pain would be great.

  • WITH ARTHUR I WONDER HOW MY HANDS WOULD FEEL,CROCHETING UP OR UNDERHANDED WITH THESES,LOVE TO TRY!!!!!

  • Can’t wait to see with I can do with these wicked tools

  • These hooks look as if they would work well with my aging hands. The twisting puts a strain on my wrists so I limit the length I crochet each time. It would be interesting to see if this new design allows me to crochet more. I love to crochet and am working on my third baby afghan and have the yarn for my fourth one.

  • What a way to begin crocheting but by trying these out.

The big plus is I can get blankets and hats to those who need them faster so more can benefit The mom’s take the blankets home after it has been in the nicu with the baby. It has mom’s sent and she has something to cuddle. When she brings it back it has mom’s scent so baby is comforted. Tyvm for making these

  • Hope I win the crochet hooks

  • As a beginning crocheter I am intrigued by London’s projects and now her new hooks. My six-year old granddaughter recently asked me to teach her how to crochet, so I am teaching her what I know and trying to stay one step ahead of her. • I crochet whenever I have the opportunity (which is every night and when I am riding in the car). Crocheting is my passion and I am always looking for something new to try. I totally agree with you that the larger the hook the faster you get the project done and you can move on to another. I would really like to try the larger hook on a few of the women’s clothing that I make. Thank you for sharing the information about these hooks.

  • These hooks look so AWESOME!!! i bet they’re easy on your hands too!!!Thx for giving me a chance at winning these and good luck everyone!! Don’t forget to smile to someone today!! 🙂

  • Saw these hooks on my last yarn pilgrimage, but I didn’t have the extra money to pick one up to try it. I can’t use regular hooks because of a sensory handicap I have, so I’ve had to try a series of different handles, both mass market and made for my grip, but none have seemed to make crocheting as fluid as I believe it can be. The added bulk seems to get in the way. Perhaps these, with just a twisted handle might allow me the grip I need without the added bulk. I look forward to trying them in the future, whether I win them or not. Thank you for the opportunity to try to win one!

  • Would so love to win a set of London Kaye crochet hooks and try them out! These hooks may help me to entice a few friends to finally get started with crocheting!!! I’m hoping to start a little crochet group in my neighborhood. THANK YOU for making me aware of this product.

  • I had not heard of Kay London or her hooks, but I’d like to know more about both.

  • I’m an avid crocheter for about 55 years now. The past year and a half I had 2 major surgeries and spent 5 months in the hospital. Crocheting was such a blessing. I could do it while lying in my hospital bed. Now, thank the Lord, I’m home but still an invalid, so I’ve expanded my crocheting even more since I can now sit on the side of my bed. These hooks would certainly be wonderful to have. I’m still using my old metal hooks I bought when I was a teenager.
