Last weekend my wife and I decided to get some fresh air and peruse a local farmers market. That is where I met the wonderfully talented Lulu. Her beautiful knit designs caught my eye so I went right over to get a closer look. She was a good sport and let me take photos of her booth after I told her that I work with yarn every day.
While her designs drew me in, it was her story that really stuck in my head. Years ago she took advantage of her daily 5 hour commute to and from work by rekindling her knitting hobby. From there she really developed a passion for designing new pieces. Today she sells them online and in person at farmers markets and craft fairs. She is the epitome of taking lemons and making lemonade.
I love the idea that you can delve deeper into a hobby or even develop a new one at any point in life. It’s never too late to learn or grow. If you are just starting out with knitting/crochet or you haven’t done it for years, let Lulu’s story inspire you to keep going!

Lovely idea!!! But it wouldn’t give the same satisfaction. Though my grandchildren would be delighted, as they wouldn’t have to wait so long for their gifts.
