  • I’m not sure that I can pick a favorite between the two! I often have a brainless and a “thinker” crochet projects going. And the same on the needles for knitting. I tend to knit shawls, sweaters, and adult hats. And I crochet blankets, children’s hats, and dolls.

  • I crochet! I am only a beginner but I really enjoy it.

  • My favorite craft is knitting right now – I was intimidated by it for a long time, so I’m enjoying expanding my skills now!

  • My first love in ‘yarning’ is crochet – for me it is easier to do – having these books would be such a boon!

  • Crochet

    • I enjoy crochet more than knitting because it goes faster. We have a group of ladies that get together once a week to crochet, knit, embroidery, etc. We started about 10 years ago under of the guidance of the “Prayer Shawl Ministry”. We call our group the “Comforting Hands”. We do a lot of visiting with one another and praying for the people we help. In our case we are associated with First Baptist Church in our town. (At least we hope we help). It doses not matter what denomation or chruch you belong to, or what group. Anyone can start a group. The book is available thru most companies that sell yarn.

      • I do both and love both. I love the speed of crochet and simplicity of making up designs. I love the smooth look of knitting and find the movement more relaxing.

  • Knit!

  • Knitting. I’m a knitter.

  • I live both! They each have their benefits!!

  • My mother taught me the basics of knitting while I was 5/6 years old. She learned as a young girl during the war in Germany. She was sent to a farm along with her sister to be sheltered From the war. I love knitting because with my two hands and a bit of imagination I can craft these wonderful pieces of art which give me great joy. But also it reminds me that my mother started my love of my craft and keeps me close to her, my talented mother. The connection is so strong and she delights in my knitting.

  • I love to knit and crochet both but enjoy knitting more. My paternal grandmother taught me to do both. I, also enjoy Tunisian crocheting. Since I retired I have enjoyed knitting afghans and lap robes for a local Veterans Administration Hospital for the local veterans who then requested that we make laprobes for them when they are up in their wheelchairs and want to keep their knees and legs warm when they are out and about in their wheelchairs in the colder weather. I have enjoyed making these forbidden out men and women veterans.
I hope that I may get chosen for an award, so I can continue to donate for our veterans. My husband, son and two grandsons are veterans.

  • Knitting. Nothing better than a hand knit pair of socks! Or mittens. Or sweaters! LOL

  • Crochet

  • Knitting. I crochet also, but prefer the look of knitting. I am in awe of the talented Margaret Hubert! I learned to knit at age 10, from a boy in my 5th grades class! That was many years ago!

  • Crochet

  • How could I choose? When I’m able to focus, or if my only distraction is audio not video, I could know for days, but if I’m plunked down in front of my TV, catching up on something I need to keep an eye on, crochet is hands down the perfect craft.

  • I meant knit, not know. I swear Google forgets I knit, and know nothing.

  • I love both. And I tend to change my favourite based on what I’m working on at the moment.

Right now knitting is my favourite. It’s more challenging for me as I haven’t been doing it as long as crochet but iove the effect of the stitches. I’m working on a shawl for my sister’s wedding and I love how it’s turning out.

  • I love to knit because I enjoy making socks for my family, and I have fond memories of watching my mother knit when I was a child.

  • Crochet

  • Knitting and crochet often in the same garment.

  • I love knitting

  • Knitting

  • Knitting is my first love, but I also enjoy crochet as a alternative to knitting once in a while. I find them both to be enjoyable and rewarding, although I still have a lot to learn about crochet.

  • My favorite used to be crochet but since I have extreme basal thumb arthritis in both hands it became too painful. I have found knitting to be easier to do on my hands and once a yarn crafter, always a yarn crafter and you simply cannot give it up! You have to find another way – it is in your blood. So knitting is my fav!

  • Crochet! I love making stuffed animals

  • When I used to work at my local craft store, I was intrigued as I would scan the different types of yarn, hooks, needles and books. I was always intimidated until one summer when I decided to learn to crochet. Ever since that summer I’ve been hooked and have continually taught myself learn new techniques. Ten years later with a mountain of yarn and stacks of magazines and books, the craft crochet has hooked my heart ❤️

  • I love to knit, all the time

  • Crocheting is a way to create, relax and share!

  • I have been crocheting since I was about twelve, do around seven years now! It helps me balance out my thought processes, as I’m pursuing a STEM degree!

  • I LOVE to crochet. I learned from my aunt when I was in middle school and my father was dying. It helped me deal with the sorrow. After I got married and had children, I crocheted to relax after the children went to bed at night. Five years ago, my husband died. While he was going through chemo and radiation treatments, crocheting again helped me to deal with the difficult times. I am now in a church group that crochets and knits prayer shawls. It is such a rewarding experience to see the happiness our prayer shawls give to those dealing with pain and loneliness. Every day I thank my aunt in my prayers for teaching me a skill that not only helped me, but also helps others too.

  • Crochet!!!!!!

  • I LOVE crocheting. I learned to crochet from my mother when I was 12 because I wanted to make a granny square afghan for my speech therapist who was having her first child, a daughter. It was the early 1970’s and I remember I used white, pink, and lavender acrylic yarn with a bit of sparkle in it.I was so pleased with the result .I crocheted a pullover summer sweater I saw in Glamour magazine in the early 80’s. I wore that cotton sweater for years and loved it. Then I went on a bit of a haitus from crocheting until 2013 when I saw a lovely pattern for a crocheted bird by Lucy of Attic 24 in a crochet magazine. I noticed how finer cotton yarns were being used and crochet had a fresh look to it.I fell in love with crocheting again. I was rusty at first, but sought out all sorts of reference books. I have quite the library now. Crocheting brings me such joy.I work a bit of crocheting into every day, even if just for a few minutes.I do not leave the house without taking a little project with me.I have made so many gifts and little things to tuck into a greeting card or gift bag.I make a small treat for my students for each holiday. And just last autumn I started making soap sacks to donate locally at our community food bank. Having crochet in my life has given me creative joy and allows me to share that joy and love in small ways with others.

Some of my projects are over 20 years old and are still looking good…

  • crochet

  • Never could get the hang of two needles, so Crochet it is!

  • Although I taught myself to crochet first in the first grade and later knitting in the 4th grade. Knitting is my first love because I had a brother who passed away from surgery and the assistant principal took me under her wing to teach me to knit a sweater. My aunt took me to Woolworth’s and we picked out the yarn and needles together. Between the asst. and my aunt I learned to do it myself. In my life knitting not only has a calming effect, but it brings people together. I still have that sweater today.

  • I love knitting and would love to make a bolero or cropped sweater with that happy color yarn. Please enter me to win the yarn and the two books which I am so excited to check out to improve my skills. I love learning from craft books.

I then taught my mother how to crochet and she took the knowledge and ran!! She made all kinds of afghans using granny squares, ripples and broom stitch as well as ornaments and dolls. So glad I was able to share with her.

  • Crochet

  • I love crochet. My dream is to start a crafting school for the kids in my area, both big and small. Crafting helps relieve stress and gives the soul a way to express it’s self. Kids these days need this.

  • Crochet

  • Knitting is my passion. I need the guidance of more than one needle (unless it’s circular).

  • I do crocheting and knitting both, so I’d be happy with either gift package.

  • I am a knitter and I love it. However, I am learning to crochet so I can make washcloths.

  • I love Crochet!

  • I both Knit and crochet. Depending on what I want to make and how I prefer it looks. However if at knifepoint I had to choose, I would pick knitting. I started with knitting and I’m further along skill wise.

  • Still Learning how to crochet.

  • I love crochet!!

  • I love to crochet. I crochet with a wonderful

  • Knitting mittens

  • I have been crocheting since I was about 5 years old- I’m 53 now.. My grandmother got me started. My first “potholder” turned out triangle shaped. Being a leftie I was pretty much self taught until I met a friend and her mother who both loved crocheting and were both left handed. What a blessing at age 9. I learned to read patterns and have made baby booties, afghans and everything in-between. I Have knitted a few scarfs but crochet has my heart.

  • Team Knit

  • I love both, but I think I’d have to say knitting is my favorite. 😀

  • Crochet for me

  • I love both. Knitting is more relaxing for me and I love the way it looks. It normally takes a little longer of actual time spent, but when I am crochetting, I sometimes procrastinate on a project and knitting is so relaxing I keep on going. Knitting, therefore is my favorite.

  • Crochet

  • Crochet since I was 10……

  • I can crochet and knit but crochet is my first love and my favorite. My grandmother taught me when I was 12 years old. She taught me to make thermal stitch potholders. I lived 500 miles away from her. I’m sure had I been closer I would have learned more, and more quickly.

  • Either knitting or crocheting? It’s hard to decide when you can do both… But, if I had to choose, it would be have to be crochet.

  • Crochet has always been my craft of choice. I have been using Lion Brand yarns for years now and at the moment I am awaiting a nice large order to come in the mail. Can’t wait. I am trying the new ZZ Twist yarn. Having a hard time finding it in my area, so I ordered it straight from Lion Brand. Will write a review once I get a chance to check it out. I would also love to win this package and try out some patterns in the beautiful books that come with the prize packet. Good luck everyone.

  • Never not knitting – I always have something on the needles.

  • I can only knit. My college roommate taught me the basic stitch and Knitting for Dummies (because YouTube wasnt a thing yet) helped me to learn so much more. I love books.l but what’s better than a crafting book.

I have started a knitting circle with other moms and there is a hooker (aka crochet-er) in the group so maybe I will learn in the not so distant future.

  • I learned to knit first after my mom was taking too long to knit me a scarf. Fell in love and bought a lot of yarn. But only learned knit and pearl stitch, got bored and was taught crochet as a border then a friend taught me to crochet from scratch and I’ve been HOOKED ever since. So my preference is CROCHET.

Yes, i have to say i love crochet, the community is supportive and show thier love for the craft. I am a crocheted for 54 years, have no children but have taught crochet beginners. The local pregnancy crisis center takes everything I can make for them and uses the items to minister to Moms and Dads who decide to keep their baby. It is a blessing to me to bkess others.

  • Crocheting is one of my hobbies — making baby blankets for the neonatal intensive care unit and of course for my grandchildren!

  • Years ago, I crocheted some, but then got into knitting. Would love to pick up crocheting again, and these books would be great. Also, the beautiful yarn. Thanks for having this contest.

  • Crochet!

  • I love crochet! I think I was born with a crochet hook in my hand! My mom crocheted most of her life and was still crocheting at 89 when she passed away. I have had some of my original crochet patterns published in the past. I also taught my daughter to crochet and she designed some of the published patterns. I have used my crochet skills to raise money for some charities. Although I do several other crafts—sewing, Kumihimo and bead weaving—crochet has always been my first love!

  • I love crochet. I have been doing it for over 40 years. I’m going to retire soon and can’t wait to get to all the projects I have saved! Love your yarn.

  • Crochet, kinder to arthritis

  • Knitting please

  • Crochet! I do not know how to knit but would love to learn.

  • Knitting but love crochet because I’m faster at it.

  • KNITTING

  • I prefer crochet.

  • Love making little people clothing.

  • Crochet. I love to knit and crochet but with arthritis in my hands, crocheting is much easier.

  • I’m definitely a knitter–I’ve tried crochet, but never got the hang of doing much more than a granny square.

  • I have always worked with my hands. I made my first stamped cross stitch when I was ten years old. I moved on to counted cross stitch, quilting, tatting, knitting and now crocheting. I have developed Parkinson’s disease and the crochet hook is easier to manage then two needles. Really enjoy the Lion Brand tutorials.

  • Knitting! I love to watch and feel the progression
of the colors, textures, and patterns as I knit and
find myself moving into a zone of peace and
    creativity.

  • I like both knitting and crochet, but knitting is my favorite for larger projects and for gifts. I use crochet for smaller projects such as bookmarks and doilies.
    Knitting is my favorite!

  • Crochet

  • Knitting, but I also like crochet at times, and tunisian crochet! Nice prizes, thank you for the giveaway!

  • Crochet is my favorite needle art from toys for toddlers to afghans to adults!

  • I both knit and crochet. Love knitting (preferred) because it lets me relax and it is something I can do to help destress and control my anxiety.

Crocheting is something I’ve been learning more of recently and I love to do cute projects like stuffed animals and the such. It’s a great technique for shapes and I LOVE the cute things that Twinkie Chan makes!

  • I knit and crochet, thanks to my Mom who patiently thought me as a youngster. I love both.

  • Knitting is my craft of choice. Crocheting is my sister’s craft. Therefore I would be happy with either chance to win in order to share with my sister.

  • Crochet! Learned from my 3rd grade teacher and still love it!

  • Crochet

  • Great winning prize! I love knitting and at the same time it can be torture. The better quality the yarn it”s less torture and winning this beautiful yarn AND a book would make me so excited and happy!

  • Da Vinci said ” learning never exhaust the mind” so does crochet.

  • Crochet

I prefer crocheting to knitting. It was easier to learn.

  • I love both knitting & crochet. My grandmother was an avid crocheter but I never picked it up until recently & I’m really enjoying the change from knitting. Still have a lot to learn, only doing basic stitches so I could really use some great instructional books to learn from.

  • I love to crochet.

  • Knitting!

  • I have been crocheting for 37 years and still love it! In addition to being fun and beautiful, it is the best stress relief. I have taught several others this wonderful art and they have enjoyed it for years as well. Lion Brand produces tried and true products that never fail. I am a faithful consumer and recommend them to everyone. I also like hearing how pleased friends are with my recommendations after they’ve used them. The crochet books and yarn featured look fabulous and exciting! I would love making some of the cover items for my granddaughters and nieces and I’m sure there are plenty more inside!

  • Crochet

  • Crochet

  • Crochet is my preference. My grandchildren love to receive items I’ve crocheted for them.

  • My favorite is knitting!

  • I’ve recently retired and would love to get my hands busy with crocheting.

  • I crochet if making doilies or afghans but knit when doing socks, hats, scarves or baby7 items

  • Knitting! although I can do both.

  • I am a crocheter. I learned about 50 years ago from my grandmother. Just had my first grandchild, a beautiful girl. This has opened the door to a tremendous amount of new patterns. Very exciting time for me. So, I am busy creating heirlooms. Thank you so much for this giveaway.

  • Knitting is my choice! I love the crocheted projects and wish that I could do them, but I have more success with knitting!

  • Knitting!

  • Knitting is my favorite but enjoy crochet too!

  • I am 72 years old and have been crocheting for 61 of them. It’s a wonderful craft as it not only helps you connect with your inner self it creates beautiful and useful things. Your imagination can go wild. I have created many gifts, taught others the craft, and donated to many charities and causes. Crochet has helped me weather some of the greatest trials of my lifetime as I can get lost in it it. I highly recommend this art form to others…it’s relaxing, easy to learn, and it has no boundaries- it will go as far as your imagination.

  • Love to knit dishcloths

  • I enjoy both knitting and crochet, but I have been leaning more towards knitting the last few years. Not sure why, I think it mostly depends on what the project is. Right now, it’s knitting because I am learning brioche and really enjoying it!

  • I used to crochet but have forgotten how ) I learned how to knit and I love doing it.

  • Knitting gives clothing more structure, Crochet is great for lacework, shawls, scarves & toys. So who can choose?! I knit more often, so I choose knitting.

  • Crochet

  • Crochet

  • Crochet!

  • I love to knit, but I do look longingly at some of the crochet patterns every now and again! Maybe some day I will learn how to do it! For now, knitting is my passion!

  • My favorite–although I am equally skilled at knitting and crochet–is knitting. I don’t know why! Currently I am knitting chemo caps and shawls by the dozens–and knitting these things gives me such peace of mind.

  • Knitting or Crochet, how can I say which is my favourite… I love both. I came to Crochet later than knitting. My mum taught me to knit when I was in my early teens but I taught myself to Crochet. I Crochet when my hands can’t knit as it is easier to pick up and put down, but I still have a lot to learn about Crochet. Force me to choose, I will probably say KNITTING, but I love Crochet too.

  • Love both. Forced to choose it is crochet. I make little things for friends and children. I enjoy giving them away.

  • Crochet! I love seeing my grandkids wearing and using the hats , scarves, blankets and baskets I have crocheted for them!

  • I enjoy my down time with a hook and yarn.

  • Knitting for me. I tried crocheting and just could not get the hang of it. People who say I should learn to crochet say it is faster. I get the same from people who tell me that I should learn continental knitting. I do not do crafts for speed; I do them for enjoyment and stress relief. I also, in general, like the look of knitting far better than crochet.

  • Crochet is my favorite craft, it’s so much easier to do than knitting for me. However, I do love some of the looks you can only get thru knitting.

  • I love to crochet. I work on something almost everyday. IT is so soothing and less frustrating than knitting for me.

  • Knitting because I like the drape of knitted pieces.

  • Crchet

  • Crochet

  • Knitting! I started knitting when my grandkids were born and love knitting fur them!

  • Crochet. My grandmother taught me when I was a child and now as an adult when I crochet I feel her presence.

  • My mother always crocheted. She tried to teach me but I was a difficult student. Finally, as a teenager, I taught myself to knit and have been knitting ever since teaching myself along the way.

  • I knit, and can crochet, however since I make a fair amount of afghans, I prefer knitting. I have been knitting for about 50 years and I have found it to be extremely therapeutic during the ups and downs of life. The rhythm of the needles is soothing and watching the piece grow from the cast on row to finished product is very satisfying.

  • Knit! I plan to learn to crochet. So far I’ve made 3 baby blankets for 3 granddaughters and 3 prayer shawls. Hope to do charity knitting when life ‘settles down” after hurricane repairs finished!

  • Knitting is my fave

  • I spend a great deal of time crocheting afghans, scarves, hats, doilies and other items. I am wanting to learn how to make sweaters for the family as well. I just purchased a large quantity of Homespun and Hometown yarn and I am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I make items to sell and to give as gifts and PINK is my absolute favorite color in everything. Would love to receive these items to enhance my abilities.

  • Crochet!!!

  • I prefer crochet, after 60 years it appears I’m just not coordinated enough to knit. Over time I’ve taken up other crafts but have recently come back to crochet. The new yarns are so soft and squishy it’s difficult to choose so my stash has grown already. What fun!

  • I enjoy knitting

  • Definitely crochet.

  • I love both but I prefer the drape of knitted items over crocheted

  • I love and do both! But I’ll pick crochet.

  • Love to knit and crochet . I have been crocheting for quite some time . Learned knitting in the last 10 yrs. Love to do them both.

  • Only knitting for me!

  • Crochet to keep gifts for others

  • Crochet

  • Knitting ❤️

  • Crochet has my heart <3

  • Croch-YAY!

  • I love crochet!

  • I prefer knitting, but am not particularly advanced. That being said, I love to learn and share what I’m up to with friends.

  • Knitting. I like the look of the finished product better, I find it more challenging and have a greater sense of accomplishment when completing knit projects.

  • I love knitting the texture is so soft and even.

  • Book giveaway… I love to crochet. There are so many things to make & new patterns to try, even free form crochet. I made a jellyfish for my nephew for his apartment in San Franscisco. He said he’d never seen anything like it. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. I enjoyed experimenting with make something completely free form. I’d love anther crochet book & free yarn. I’m currently crocheting around fleece for baby blankets for single & needy mother. It makes me excited to provide them with a colorful & soft, warm blanket for their new baby. I’m hoping to expand the outreach & teach others to crochet. Free yarn donations & crochet hooks would be greatly appreciated for this outreach.

  • Crochet, I don’t have the patience for knitting

  • I work in both, but I favor knitting. My mom taught me how to do both, but in her last few years she only crocheted.

  • I was taught both by my grandma but I love knitting more. Would love to have those books and also the yarn……Thanks.

  • Knitting, because it has allowed me to be creative and any place I want. Very portable and very calming.

  • I’m just learning to crochet, and I think I am going to like it!

  • Crochet is my favorite craft

  • Crochet!

  • I started knitting in January. I love it more than crocheting right now

  • Knitting

  • I love crochet, but realize I should learn to knit.

  • Knitting

  • I love to crochet. Especially projects for the home. or holiday projects.

  • I know how to knit but if I make a mistake I don’t know how to fix it so my favorite would definitely be crocheting. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Knitting. I was taught to knit at a very young age by my Dad and have been knitting ever since. I am now 61. Thanks Dad!

  • Knitting

  • Knitting is my preference. It reminds me of my Irish roots.

  • Knitting book please.

  • Crochet relieved tension, forms items with pieces, adapable forms to change.

  • I enjoy both crafts, learning them in my youth. Now that I am retired, I have the time to create hats, scarves, blankets for Project Linus, Operation Gratitude and Operation Shower organizations. Lion Brand Vanna or Pound of Love are my go to yarns for those donations. Right now I am in a knitting craze, already creating gifts for Christmas. You’ve got to love the energy crafting brings to your life.

  • I prefer knitting (though I crochet a bit too).,

  • Knitting

  • Crocheting is what I do I’m kind of simple and basic in that scarfs are my thing. All winter I made Everyone Infiniti scarfs with matching fingerless gloves. They were a hit.

  • I am definitely into crochet all the way.

  • Knitting

  • If I’m knitting, knitting is my favorite.
If I’m crocheting, it’s my favorite.
I always think that the project I’ve just finished is the coolest thing I’ve ever made.
I’m not a designer, so I think every designer is absolute genius.

  • Crochet

  • I love knitting as this was the first craft I learnt, although I’m not averse to doing crotchet either.

  • I enjoy both but I love how versatile knitting is so I lean towards the knit-side .

  • Crochet heals

  • Knitting,

  • I enjoy doing both knit and crochet – they are so relaxing at the end of a day or while watching television. I currently favor knitting, especially prayer shawls and hats for charity.

  • Crochet helps me unplug and relieves stress!

  • I love to crochet. It’s relaxing and creative, a great way to make gifts, and I can’t do mindless munching when my hands are busy.

  • I absolutely love to crochet. I am a single disabled mother and once I learned how to do this I haven’t stopped. It has given me a way to make lovely gifts for my friends and family and helps me feel useful in a sense. I hope to be able to teach this to my children as they grow up so I have something to pass along to them and share with them.

  • Crochet

  • Crochet. Used to be a knitter, but taught myself to crochet when my granddaughter was born, much faster.

  • I love crochet. Twinkie Chan is awesome!! Her patterns are so cool. What an awesome give away!! Good luck everyone.

  • Crochet.

  • crochet

  • I am good with two sticks but hopeless with a hook. Imagine the surprise of all the great-aunts who wanted to teach crochet first as “easier”. Maybe it is because I knit left-handed and they tried to teach me to crochet right but I’ve never gotten it. Knit, all the way!

  • Crochet is simply the best!!!

  • Crochet! One hook is all you need..

  • I am a knitter but I like crochet too.

  • Knitting is meditation in movement!

  • Crochet over knitting if I need something to gift quickly. I have a nice collection of books that I have inherited or purchased over the years. I refer back to them when looking for something new or unusual to create. I love these books. They never go out of style just the colors or yarn changes. Once I made an afgan with single crochet stitches out of a book from the late 60s. It was open and airy but not lacey.. I just used updated the yarn and a color that matches my DIL’s decor. She loved it.

  • I am an avid Knitter. I cannot imagine not knitting. I love the creativity and the feeling of the yarn in my hands.

  • I love knitting have yet to master crocheting

  • Of late crochet is my go-to. I’ve become obsessed with texture and blankets

  • I currently have projects in progress in both crochet and knitting but my current favorite is knitting.

  • Crochet! Love to sit and relax with crochet. My mind leaves my every day life and centers on the rhythm of crochet, the hand movement & the counting. Just love it.

  • I love both for different reasons, but if I had to choose one, I guess it would be knitting since that is what I started with as a little girl.

  • Knitting is my creative time and has been for over 50 yrears! I love learning new ways and stitches– first that was for my kids, and now for my grandkids– I’m especially having fun knitting new little girly things for my 2nd granddaughter, coming in May. So far, I’ve finished a smocked dress, with adjustable straps with two different sweaters– different sizes, and a blanket in variegated pink/purples as requested and deep pink booties, by her mom along with a while other sweater, bootie and blanket set. She is also getting 3 summer dresses in other shades of pinks and green! Can’t wait to see and be with her. I also knit dolls and their clothes for my older granddaughter and special winter hats for her and her brother.

  • I Love to Crochet more then anything. I learned the basics from my mother when I was pregnant the first time in 1980. I had switched to Cross Stitching. Then in 2017 my very close cousin passed away unexpectedly. My cousin was a true crocheter so I decided to honor her memory I would start crocheting again.
I now Crochet to donate to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the Hospital I work for as well as crochet to give as gifts and the family. Crocheting also relieves a lot of the daily stressors. Thank you for the apportunity. Good luck everyone.

  • Knitting

  • I have been knitting since I was five y.o.. it is my daily therapy.

  • My passion has been crochet since I was 10 years old. I can be so creative with crochet. I really enjoy crocheting rugs of all kinds but can crochet just about anything you can imagine. I can’t wait to teach it to my two beautiful granddaughters.

  • I Love to Crochet, but I learned to knit first, when I was 9 years old. Started to crochet because I had to finish a knitting project with a crochet edge. Love the versatility of crocheting and find it more relaxing. Am now teaching my grandaughter to crochet.

  • Crochet, because I watched my mom so it for years. I finally learned when I was an adult so I could do amigurumi.

  • Crochet!

  • I love to Crochet ❤️ I enjoy making things for my family to wear and especially baby blankets for the little ones. Every year I crochet hats for newborn babies and donate them to various hospitals

  • Crochet

  • I have been knitting since I was 12 years old. This art form has gotten me through surgery recovery, hospital waiting rooms, grief recovery and “boredom busting{. It is my only tranquilizer and I love Lion Brand yarns.

  • I love to crochet. My favorite item to make is shawls and wraps

  • I learned how to crochet from my Grammy nearly 20 years ago when I was about 5, and didn’t learn to knit until I sat myself down last year and forced myself to figure it out. I like them both because each craft functions so differently! If I want something sleek or chic I’ll pick knitting, but if I want to be able to manipulate the fabric or make three dimensional objects I’ll pick crochet. Right now I’ve been working on a knit sleeveless shirt (my first knit garment! Ack! I finally understand why gauge is important!) so lately I’ve been focused on knitting–so I’ll pick knitting to be my preference at the moment. Thank you!

  • I only crochet. Love me some lion brand yarn!

  • Both are so much fun, but crochet is my favorite. It is fun to use the filet crochet items, to use the yarn items to keep warm, and the gifts that are possible because of my obsession are always appreciated.

  • crochet

  • Crocheting is my favorite type of project. It is relaxing, I can crochet while riding in a car, waiting in a line, while watching TV, or talking with friends. I can do so many projects and with so many types and weights of yarn. Crochet!

  • I love crochet

  • Crochet

  • I like crochet

  • Crochet – because frogging is so much easier than tinking.

  • I love to knit and have been doing it for many years.

  • I crochet, but I am also attempting to learn how to knit.

  • I like both..but crochet more…it really does go faster!!

  • Knitting! I used to crochet but have recently taught myself to knit. I think knitted is prettier.

  • My favorite craft is presently knitting. I taught myself to knit continental 3 years ago after 50 years of crocheting and loved it.

  • I like crochet.

  • Crochet – my grandma taught me and I think of her with each item I make. ❤️

  • I love knitting.!

  • Knitting is first love but enjoy trying crochet patterns too. Do lots of charity knitting, hats and blankets. Many needs out there.

  • Crochet is my favorite, although I have tried knitting. My Mother-In-Law taught me to Crochet over 40 years ago. I was pregnant and wanted to make a baby blanket. After that first blanket I was hooked. It is so relaxing and fun.

  • While I do both, my preference is for Knitting. I’ve been knitting 60 years and still love it.

  • Crochet

  • Knitting!

  • I love both but I like to knit because I can get such beautiful patterns in so.id colors.

  • Knitting of course. Love it.

  • Knitting

  • Knitting. I am a senior and retired. I have four great-grandchildren of various ages and sizes. Whatever I knit will fit one of them. The joyous reward for my time, love and enjoyment of knitting is the fact that they always love what I have made and everyone will eventually wear the items.

  • Knitting since I was 12…it’s a family thing!

  • I love crocheting.

  • Knitting because it’s new for me. Started crochet @7 yrs old. But taught myself to Knit a couple yrs ago. I need more practice. I love trying new yarn & I haven’t tried that one yet. Thank you

  • Like many of the comments, I also love both. My grandmother and my dad taught me to knit when I was very small. So it has special memories. I taught myself to crochet as a young woman. For me knitting requires more concentration but I love the challenge. Crochet goes quicker and I can have conversation while crocheting. I have taught knitting and crocheting to many people and it makes me happy I could share these skills.

  • Crochet

  • Knitting

  • Crochet! Taught by a neighbor in the 70’s. I “relax” while I crochet.

  • I love to crochet. It is so versatile and forgiving. I never have to worry if my dog runs off with my yarn, as I can easily pick up my stitch and return to work on my project. Granted, I usually have to redo some stitches I had already made, but at least I’m not trying to get them all back into a kitting needle. (I used to love to knit until I became a mom. 🙁 )

  • I am an avid crocheter. I love the peace and relaxation it brings me after a long day.

  • I’ve been knitting since my grandmother taught me when I was nine. It really can help you keep calm! Knitting got me through the teen years of all 4 of our kids!

  • Knitting

  • KNITTING !!!

  • My mom taught me to knit when i was 8; learned to crochet at age 16 in high school..i started knitting slippers scarves, then doll clothes for my Shirley Temple doll. Then added sweaters to the list..When i learned crochet, it was AFGHANS! depending on the pattern, or my mood, i constantly bounce between crochet and knit..
But i want to enter for the KNIT!!

  • Not only do I knit God knits too!

    Psalm139:3
    For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

  • I enjoy crocheting immensely. It is hard for me to put down my crochet hooks to do other things. I devide my crocheting time between crocheting for charity through the organization From the Heart and crocheting for family and friends. I would love the books and yarn because I love trying new stitch patterns and working with pretty yarns and my favorite color is pink!

My great Aunt Bessie who was born in 1878 and I had the privilege of knowing until I was 16 years old , taught me to crochet when I was 8 years old. My memories of her always come back to me when I’m crocheting.

    Thank you for your time,

    Jennifer Smith

  • I love knitting and crochet. It depends on what I am making and how I want it to look and feel. Knitting uses less yarn and tends to be softer, but crochet has so many beautiful stitches that can’t be emulated duplicated in knitting. I have crochet hooks and knitting needles wherever I travel.

  • I love to knit. Cup of coffee, feet up, TV on, a ball of yarn and knitting needles clicking away. So relaxing. So zen.

  • I can do both but Love, Love Knitting

  • Knitting!

  • when I’m in a hurry, crochet. But, knitting as well for the appearance.

  • My grandmother showed me how to crochet when I was just a kid and I am 75 years old now and enjoy it more than ever. Most of what I make goes to a local hospital for the baby nursery or the oncology department. I love knowing that I can enjoy my projects, use my favorite colors and patterns and then give them to someone else to enjoy makes me very happy. I also knit for the same departments, but admittedly enjoy the fact that crocheting goes faster and I can produce more finished projects.

  • I love knitting. The rythmn of the needle has such a calming effect as I watch a project grow from the first stitches to the last.

  • I prefer crochet over knitting. I tried to learn to knit; but it works up so slowly and I just couldn’t get the hang of using two needles.

  • I love crocheting!

  • I do both and which one I prefer varies. Right now I prefer knitting but that may change. . . . Again

  • For the past two years I have been very unwell and not wanting to do very much. A couple of weeks ago while visiting one of my step-daughters she rekindled my interest in knitting. She reminded me of the basics and took me into the nearest city to buy wool and a pattern for a simple blanket.. Wow – I can’t wait to get all the day to day things done so that I can knit some more. I have already planned what I will knit next and have ordered the wool in readiness.

  • Crocheting is my thing. I have been doing this since I was way younger (40 yrs) and was taught by my grandmother. It was just occasional but after I had children it became a passion. I have won ribbons at the county fair, donated many Afghans for charity and awed myself when I completed a project. I have yarn bags all over my house for when I am just sitting and take projects with me when I travel for work. I look forward to retirement and spending time crocheting and teach myself to knit. I love this art form and grateful that I was taught by my gram other. It is what I have as my legacy to my children and carrying on a craft that is coming back strong. For the love of yarn and crocheting…

  • Definitely knitting. Prefer projects made with circular needles. Lion brand yarn is my go to yarn. Love it

  • My favorite is crochet! I love that its something I can do anywhere and am able to make things for my family. Knitting is on my list of things to learn. I need more crafts to use up my yarn.

  • I like to knit

  • I’ve been crocheting for over 40 years. It is my refuge in sadness. My happy place. My calm. My “Oooh! Look at that pattern!” excitement!

  • crochet

  • Love knitting. Still learning and love the challenge.

  • Crocheting and loom knitting. But I probably do more crocheting

  • My mother taught me to knit, crochet, embroider and sew when I was very young. I love all types of arts and crafts. But knitting is my favorite of all of them. I am currently knitting Blue Hats for the #HatNotHate Campaign. In the past four weeks I’ve finished 13 hats, all different shades of blue and each a different pattern. I have hunted through hundreds of free patterns on line and still looking for some interesting Men’s hat patterns as there doesn’t seem to be a lot out there. I just joined a knitting group at my public library and enjoy my newThursday night friends. For me creating beautiful things is very rewarding and sharing them brings me joy!

  • crochet

  • Like both, but knitting is my favorite.

  • I run a Yarn Club at the High School where I work. This club is for at risk students to have a place that is safe and to learn a new skill. We have tended to just be knitters but a number of the students want to learn crochet so we are just starting a 6 week learn to crochet class. I’d take either bundle but leaning toward the crochet as we are needing to increase our resources in that area of the club. Thanks.

  • Knitting is my favorite.

  • Crocheting. Can make so many different things.

  • Knitting! I learned how to knit when I was in 3rd grade, and have been knitting ever since – 50 years!

  • I knit and crochet but enjoy crocheting the most since I can finish a project faster and correct my mistakes
easier. I learned both 53 years ago. Since I retired, I knit and crochet prayer shawls and lap blankets for Hospice patients. Thanks for this giveaway.

  • Knitting.

  • I LOVE knitting!

  • Crochet all the way. My dear mom tried to teach me knitting, which was her specialty, but I could never get the hang of working with two implements.

  • Knitting For me it is very relaxing

  • I love knitting scarves, baby items, and hats.
But crochet is my second because I like to make
    amigurumis and ponchos.

  • I’m both a knitter and crocheter because i like fiber art.

  • Knitting

  • crochet

  • Knitting is my favorite but I do both

  • I love to knit! I have been knitting since the 70’s,and make everything from baby sets,to shawls,to amigurami toys for my grandchildren.

  • I’m an avid Knitter!
Lionbrand is always my first go to choice when
looking for the easiest to read patterns & best
    yarns!!

  • Knitting. I taught myself to knit when, newly married, my Navy husband went to sea. It has proven to be a great comfort to me over the many years that have passed since then. Presently I am knitting a baby blanket for each of my 9 grandchildren to use for their own babies, when they have them. They will each have a love gift from MomMom!

  • Luv 2 Knit

  • Knitting… I love both and do both all the time but there is a special place in my heart for knitting

  • I Love Crochet and Lion Brand Yarns!

  • I’ve only been knitting for a couple of months now but I know I’ve found something I will love and enjoy for a lifetime. The fact that there is so much to learn, so many beautiful things to create, and so much amazing yarn in the world ensures an ever evolving growth and interest in this art form. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

  • Done plenty of borh but crochet is the fav by far for a couple of reasons: first, because my cat chases the needles and all of mine have teeth marks which of course doesn’t affect the knitted piece but it isn’t always easy to find time or place without kitty to knit; the second, if I am sitting in a chair with arms, the needles are awkward when trying to keep them from hitting the arms and I end up knitting at an awkward angle.

  • Crochet

  • CROCHET!!

  • I learned both about 50 years ago from each of my grandmothers. I do far more knitting but love each as they remind me of my grandmas.

  • Crochet

  • I love to crochet, being taught by my right-handed mother in a mirror-image fashion. I took the crochet instructor’s program and became a beginning instructor. My favorite comment from the tutor/master crocheter was that she had never seen crocheting like mine as it was so uniform! A great compliment since I am missing digits from birth and have a unique way of crocheting. One of my bucket list goals is to meet someone to teach me to knit in a European style. I have been told it is a different way to hold the needles and I might be able to accomplish it!

  • Knitting! I have been crocheting for years, but knitting has become my passion.

  • I love both crafts but knitting will always be my favorite

  • I both knit and crochet depending on what I am making. I learned to knit when I was young and only learned to crochet last year.

  • I love to knit and crochet but mostly knit. I am just learning to knit socks, working with wool-ease to make cottage socks to wear around the house in winter. I love to try new things and new patterns with different yarns. I would enjoy making a project with the LB Collection Superwash Merino in Dahlia. It looks lovely . Thanks for a chance to win the giveaway .:)

  • I am a long time knitter and I learned to crochet about a year ago. I love doing both!

  • Crochet. I’m currently recovering from tendinitis, caused by too much crochet last year. I sure do miss keeping my hands busy.

  • I am a crocheter. I didn’t try to knit so far but I absolutely love crocheting toys for my daughter.

  • I have been knitting and crocheting for about 50 years now. I was taught by my grqndmother and my mother. Whenever I want to make something I usually turn to knitting first.

  • I’m a self-taught knitter as of about 50 years ago, and I still love it.

  • Crochet!

  • I crochet as therapy and also because I love it, creating something is very satisfying! I love your yarn <3

  • knitting is my very favorite.

  • Like them both but if I have to pick only one it would be knitting.

  • I am a crocheter (with hopes of someday learning how to knit). That peony color of wool is very pretty! We do love peonies at our house.

  • Knit!!!!

  • I do mostly loom knitting now but have used needles in the past. I also love to crochet but I am very new at it and I do enjoy the speed if crochet

  • I love to knit, especially baby blankets, which I donate to Newborns in Need and other organizations that help children. I am currently completing my first sweater.

  • I’ve been crocheting since I was taught by my grandmother when I was about 10 years old – almost 60 years. I love seeing a string of yarn turn into something beautiful. It is invigorating and relaxing and meditative.

  • I learned to crochet fifty years ago next month. I had a friend teach me to knit dishcloths about twenty years ago. I like them knitted in cotton and have made hundreds for friends and coworkers since then. I would love to be able to be able to knit as well as I can crochet. Even so crocheting is my first love and I hope to continue until I am very old.

  • Crochet all the way!

  • I like to crochet now, I used to knit when my kids were young.

  • Definitely knitting. I’ve tried to learn to crochet a few times, but for some strange reason I don’t enjoy it. Knitting allows me to exercise my creativity, soothes me when I’m stressed and connects me to many members of my family (living and deceased) who are or were knitters as well.

  • My passion is knitting and I love to knit cowls to give away as gifts. I am always excited to try new and different projects!!
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this give away.

  • Crochet is my favorite.

  • I love to relax with my knitting and a cup of tea

  • I love to knit and do some crocheting, I have needles in my hands every evening because I can’t sit down not not create while I watch TV. Most of my crafts for charity .

  • I am an 80 year old crocheter. Taught myself to crochet in High School from a 10 cent leaflet and never put the needle down. Love to crochet for charity and Bridget’ Cradles. Thank you for all you do for the craft world.

  • I am a crocheter.

  • Crochet!!

  • I like both knitting and crochet. I teach both in a beginners class. I have crocheted a lot longer than knitting and prefer crochet for afghans and throws. I prefer knitting for hats and scarves. Of the books offered I would prefer crochet. I have never made socks and gave up on sweaters other than baby ones. I probably do more crochet than knit in my projects. Thanks for the opportunity to win some great yarn and fun books.

  • I enjoy crochet. I love the rhythm of the stitching and and the feel of the hook in my hand.

  • Beautiful yarns and books! Thank you for a chance to win! I enjoy both knitting and crochet.

  • I love to crochet. My mother taught me some basic stitches when I was younger. Mom used to crochet all of her family fancy doilies for their homes. I use the thicker crochet yarns now to make afghans and scarves for people.

It always reminds me of my mom when I crochet. Such great memories…

  • I love the challenge of knitting!! Thank you!!

  • I love knits and I love it that I am able to knit! I can see any kind of knitted item out there, and no matter how complicated, how expensive, how out of reach it may seem, I can find a way to get that yarn, learn that technique, and make it for myself. There’s a lot of satisfaction to that…knowing that pretty much any knit I see or dream up can be made by me if I really want it!

  • Crochet! Thanks for the opportunity and inspiration.

  • knitting-I taught myself years ago and just love to knit. My mother taught me how to crochet and that is great too, but I am always interested in learning more about knitting!

  • Knit. It relaxes me when I a stressed.

  • I have been crocheting most of my 68 years of life. A real joy! I have off and on tried to teach myself to knit but raising children, running a household, being s caregiver and working, I never had the time to really practice. In 2002 I decided to try again and this time I had my 88 yoa father encouraging me through the process. Success at last! I am still learning new techniques because when I am knitting, my Dad who died at the age of 93 in 2007 is there with me cheering me on!

  • Crochet!

  • It’s hard to say which is my favorite because I basically crochet for the home and knit for garments and accessories even though each can be used for home or personal. With that said I would select knitting because knitting gives me the most enjoyment and challenge.

  • crochet because I do not know how to knit

  • Definitely crocheting!

  • Crochet
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • crochet

  • I love both knitting and crocheting. If I really, really have to choose I would say I love knitting more (probably because I learned how to knit first).

  • I LOVE LOVE crochet. I crochet in my sleep if I could. I love the feeling of a little one playing with my toys or wearing my clothes. My friends and family love all my gifts. Best feeling ever.

  • I do both, but my favorite is knitting

  • Knitting helps me make sense of this complicated world and that’s why I love and share it.

  • Knitter

  • I both knit and crochet and I love both. It depends on the pattern and my mood which one I am more into at the time.

  • crochet – wish I could do it more!

  • Definitely crochet! I learned how to both knit and crochet in high school, but crochet is the skill I’ve kept in practice.

  • I do both, but crochet is my favorite because my mother taught me. Thank you

  • I’ve been knitting (and crocheting) since my early teens. A wonderful way to relax.

  • I learned to knit after I retired. It was a joy to learn a new skill that easily fit into this new stage of my life. And there is so much to learn. Recently tackled lace and brioche stitches. Knitting sweaters for the “grands” is my favorite project. Cruising all the wonderful websites for patterns, yarns, classes, and ideas keeps my new hobby fresh and fun. Joining the knitting group at church, knitting hats and scarves for our local Youth Hope Organization brings the work meaning outside of my family/ friends. Everyone should learn to knit. It’s creative, relaxing, mobile, and with all the beautiful yarns available, colorful and very fashionable!

  • I actually enjoy both, but I would say Crochet is my favorite!

  • Chrochet or Knit, both keep your hands busy!

  • I love crochet! 🙂 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • I crochet and knit. I have rheumatd arthritis -RA – and cannot crochet anymore due to wrist pain. I went to my local knitting shop and learned how to knit, which I am able to do without pain. I have been happily knotting ever since.

  • Knitting! It’s my favorite. I started knitting when I was a caregiver for my mother in law. I always wanted to.learn to knit. Lion Brand has a great website with so many free patterns and helpful tips my adventure began. I enjoy your blog, Tea with Shira and Franklin Habit.

  • Knitting!

  • I love to knit. Since I’be gotten older and not as
mobile I make laprobes and give to nursing
homes in my area. I also make Twiddle muffs
    for dementia/Alzheimer residents. I get
positive feedback from the nursing homes.

  • Knit and crochet, but prefer knitting. Am now using Lionbrand yarn to knit blue hats for anti-bullying and have recruited others to knit them, too. Will mail before the due date, to be sure they get there in time. Belong to three knitting groups. In one knitting group we are called Knocker Knitters and meet the first Tuesday of each month and we knit prosthetics for mastectomy patients and give them away. We started in 2016 and have been privileged to be able to help supply several hospitals and health care centers in our area and have sent several hundred to a new women’s hospital in Honduras, partnering with a local charitable group and give them to family or friends, who may need of our knockers. One other knitting group is a fun group and we meet at various cafes and knit on our current projects – learning new stitches, fellowship and eat. Another knitting group gets together once a week at a local library and knit on various projects – one being making Sensory Mitts for Alzheimer patients and cuff mitts for autistic children. Have enjoyed knitting for many years and really enjoy it and feel very blessed to be able to make knitted gifts for family and friends and charitable entities.. Blessings to knitters and crocheters everywhere.

  • Knitting is my favorite, I haven’t crochet’d in years.

  • Crochet!
While I love both, crochet is easier on my arthritic hands.

  • Crochet is my favorite. My mother taught me how to crochet when I was very young. Crochet has changed so much over the years so there is always learning to do. I also love yarn, sometimes I buy it just to have; I’m addicted. I think I went overboard with the 10 for 10.

  • I enjoy the challenges of knitting and socks in particular.

  • Crocheting…..I love to crochet and now that I just retired, I’ll have more time. Currently working on 2 projects….nests for injured birds and a tunic.

  • I love knitting Made tons of scarfs and hats to give away

  • knitting

  • I knit 70 stocking caps for the homeless each year.

  • I knit and crochet for charity .
I love crocheting lapghans for the Veterans and knitting hats & scarfs for the children & homeless people

  • Knitting – because both hands are engaged, altho I did crochet my wedding dress nearly 40 years ago (took two engagements!) from a pattern in a McCall’s Needlework magazine that I had to send for – a novelty at the time. Bought the yarn one ball at a time from a very kind storekeeper who kept the lot together; the dress was still damp from blocking when I wore it for the wedding! Never finished the hooded jacket that went with it – it’s still pinned together somewhere. Knitting has gotten me through so many happy and sad life events – it is my constant in the storm.

  • I’m a crocheter! Learned both a long time ago (I was about 20), but prefer crochet!!

  • I love crocheting.

  • crochet

  • Crochet! I prefer crochet because it uses only one tool, the hook. I can do simple knit and love the look of it, but I really prefer crochet.

  • i love chrocheting,I AM JUST LEARNING HOW TO KNIT,SO I HOPE I CAN GRASP IT WELL!!!!

  • Knitting is currently my favorite.

  • Knitting

  • I like crochet better than knitting although I do both. I taught myself
to crochet after working with girls who all knew how to crochet and did
so on breaks and lunchtime etc. I decided that if they were able to crochet
I could do it as well. I bought myself a hook and a skein of yarn and taught
myself. I have been making crocheted things since that time.(about 40 years).
For the last few years I have been crocheting as a therapeutic craft.
It has been wonderful for gifts for the people I love and keeps me creative
    as well.

  • I love to crochet!. Make things for the women’s shelter, homeless shelter and the church. Try to find yarn on sale as much as possible to support the habit!!

  • Knit please

  • I like to crochet. It is relaxing while watching tv. . I learned from my aunt and mom. I have made afghans mainly..

  • Crochet. Always crochet. The first I learned and the most versitle of the yarn arts.

  • I love a good book and love crocheting !! I am currently working with my two daughters age 14 and 6 years who both are learning the art of crochet. Love the Lion Brand and knownthis would be greatly received. Happy National Craft Book week

  • Learned to knit when I was 8, started up again a few years ago. Never learned to crochet, and probably won’t since I like the look of knitting much better.

  • I love to crochet. I usually make afghans. I have been learning new stitches and patterns. My project list is about as long as my to be read book list.

  • All the things! I love both knitting and crochet, it depends entirely on what I am making 🙂

  • Knit! But would love to be better at crochet.

  • I love to knit but have never gotten the hang of crocheting even after lots of tries!

  • I am a crocheter!

  • I enjoy crotchet because it reminds me of my Grandmother teaching me. I enjoy knitting because I learned on my own. I am part of a church Knit Together group that has started a knit/crotchet library based on the members contributions. This would be a great addition to our meager stash!
    Thank you.

  • Crochet

  • Knitting is my favorite hobby though I like crocheting too.

  • Slow but sure Knitter and all around Book Lover!!

  • Crochet- I just can’t seem to get the hang of knitting, but meanwhile am becoming more and more proficient and adventurous with my crochet. So much fun with color; so relaxing and soothing to me while I simultaneously see something beautiful being created!

  • I’m in my love knitting phase right now. I have found this group the most giving women who share their knowledge. I just finished my first pair of socks Yay

  • I like both knitting and crochet, but for now, my favorite is knitting, because I am better at it due to more experience, and I like the easy drape look that knitting achieves in many of the scarves and shawls that I’ve knit.
Knitting is also fairly easy, and relaxing, because there are just two types of stitches – knit and purl, yet the finished look is always elegant.

  • Crochet is the best.

  • Hate to be a “fence sitter”, but I really do enjoy both knitting and crochet. It all depends on my mood and what projects I need to finish. I frequently use knitting to make chemo caps for the Knots of Love organization. The caps are smoother with knitting, which is very important for the patients. I crochet mostly when I’m making larger projects like blankets. The Knots of Love organization also collects NICU blankies, so if I have the right size skein for a NICU-sized Blankie, I just whip one up and send it along! I enjoy the fact that I can switch off between knitting and crochet. I never get bored!

  • I would say crochet, mainly because I do d it faster. But I do both.

  • Only know crochet the simple patterns are for clumsy people like me because they turn out great. .

  • I my grandmother taught my sister and I to crochet and knit. My sister does both expertly! I was only able to crochet! I guess to hands working together was too much of a challenge for me!

  • Love them both but crochet more often.

  • Knitting

  • My grandmother taught my sister and I to crochet and knit. My sister does both expertly! I was only able to crochet! I guess two hands working together was too much of a challenge for me!

  • I like to knit and crochet both equally!

  • crochet I like to crochet now that I am retired and I am doing most of it for the grandchildren and charity, I just finished 21 Chemo caps, and then order more yarn todo more. also making hat and scarves for the homeless, the church as a drive . it keep me out of trouble!

  • All of it!

  • I love both crochet and knit depending on the project. I enjoy knitting slippers and crocheting shawls and afghans. Both are fun.

  • Knitting- mostly to give away or raise money for my Relay For Life team.

  • I prefer Crochet but love knitting too.

  • Knitting -Learned it from my Momma and learned it first, before Crochet.
    Thank you!

  • Knitting. On May 1, I will have been knitting for 74 years, I learned at age 5 because my mother and neighbors would sit in the sun in front of the house we lived in and, of course, I wanted to do the same. I wish I still had that piece of “art”, full of holes and all. Now I knit for myself and my daughter and most importantly for the charity “Motherless Child Foundation” a charity which goes to Kazakhstan 2 times a year. In December to deliver socks to two orphanages, one in Akkol and the other in Uripinka. In May, we deliver sweaters, matching hat, mittens, scarves and socks for those who age out of the orphanages. Thank you for your generosity,

  • Crochet, its what I’m best at. Was taught knitting when I was a Girl Scout, it was very very ugly. Some day I will try again, but not know, I have too many projects going and a head swimming with ideas for more.

  • My Grandmother taught me to do both nearly 50 years ago. The crochet is what I picked up and continue to do today. Thanks for doing the Giveaway!

  • love lionbrand yarns…crochet!

  • My favorite is crochet. I enjoy knitting small items, like hats and scarves, but my joy comes from crocheting.

  • Crochet is my thibg!

  • I love both and will choose depending on the project I am making. I dealt with health issues a few years ago and knitting/crocheting helped me get through it. To this day, I seldom go a full day without picking up my needles or crochet hook. 🙂

  • Knitting!!
    Cheaper than a shrink!!
    Don’t trash my stash!

  • Two of my favorite things, books and knitting! What better way of transforming imagination into creation, pure excitement!

  • I love crocheting which I have done almost all my life. I have started knitting seriously recently. At present I am enjoying my knitting more.

  • My first love is crocheting but I’m also trying to get more experience in knitting. Crocheting does goes a lot faster but I love a challenge and that’s where knitting comes to play. Believe me, it is quite a challenge at this stage of the game.

  • Crochet

  • Like em both, but knitting I can do without looking at every stitch. Knitting it is!

  • I taught myself to crochet when I was 8 years old. I’ve crocheted everything from doilies to clothing over the years. Crocheting has been a life- long love. I looked forward to retirement because I would have all the time to crochet I wanted. Then, arthritis struck! The last 5 years have been a struggle to keep crocheting. I am retired now and am still “learning” to deal with arthritis and crochet! I love it so much that I am determined to not give up!

  • I am a self taught knitter. Started knitting in 5th grade and learned to crochet at age 20. Once I learned to crochet I did not knit as often.
I have been crocheting and knitting for over 50 years now. and have made wedding dresses, evening ensembles, baby layettes, afghans, sweaters, scarves,, ponchos , slippers, skirts and hats. I think I have done it all . I enjoy both.

  • Crochet! Took me several years to finally master it….but I was quite young…7 when mom started teaching me, 10 when I finally got the hang of it. Now I challenge myself with learning new stitches all the time.

  • I do both knit and crochet. It has been nearly 70 years since I learned to knit. We were living on a wheat farm in Saskatchewan, Canada. It was so remote we did not have electricity so the long winter evenings were spent by lamplight. My three siblings and I learned to knit at pre-school ages but only did plain garter stitch making long scarves etc. After moving to Ontario, Canada I was exposed to a home economics class assignment to knit an egg cozy. This introduced the concept of patterns and useful creations. I have never stopped. In my early 20’s my sister taught me to crochet and I have gone on to make hundreds of both knit and crocheted articles ranging from hats, scarves, mittens, slippers, sweaters, vests, afghans, baby blankets, baby outfits, prayer shawls, ponchos, knitted apples and Christmas tree balls, etc. Some have been for my own use but more have been for family and friends and most have been donated to various charitable organizations. I am always happy when I have a supply of yarn and some time to start creating! I especially find the Lion Brand Yarn website useful for excellent and imaginative patterns for a wide array of projects. Thanks for your website and thanks for these wonderful prizes you are offering. Enter me as a KNITTER!

  • I like to knit but I Love to crochet. I have fantastic memories of my Mom doing both crafts and I guess it rubbed off on me. I now get to share this relaxing pass time with my kids and grandchildren

  • Knitting- My grandmother taught her girls, my mom and my aunt, to knit and crochet. They taught their daughters. I now belong to a knitting/crochet group at our local library. I find it relaxing, I feel that I am contributing when I donate completed objects, and I feel that it is a very strong connection to the women of my family who are no longer with me.

  • Crochet! I love love love to crochet!!!!

  • I enjoy both Knitting & Crocheting. I like large projects & small. My go to pattern are hats & scarves for the homeless.

  • Knitting

  • I have been crocheting for about 40 years and knitting about 30 years. But I do think crochet is my favorite!

  • Crochet–because it is more forgiving of my mistakes.

  • I love crochet it’s something I do most every day.

  • I like to crochet. My grandmother crocheted 82 ripple afghans in her lifetime. I would watch her as she whizzed along not needing to look at her work or count. It was so effortless for her. I am trying to keep the family tradition going by doing ripple afghans for our granddaughters and a large size for our daughter’s home. I’m trying and just learned double crochet and opened a whole new world.

  • Knitting is my love but can do both.

  • I love to crochet. Not only is it my sanity saver I love the many beautiful things that I can make. I love the joy that my crochet items bring to others

  • Knitting! Because I don’t know how to crochet!

  • I crochet as it soothes me as nothing else can
Yarn in my hands is my therapy.

  • I love crochet! It makes my day.

  • I learned to knit when I was 6 and taught myself to crochet at 10. At 60 years old now, I still love it. It is therapy and saves me the doctor ‍⚕️ visit. At this time, knitting is my passion. KNITTING

  • I was taught to crochet when I was in my teens, but always had trouble with my items getting wider or narrower. Than I learned to knit and I didn’t have that problem! I just recently have tried crocheting again.

  • I learned how to knit in college. Later I learned to crochet and I enjoy it much better than knitting. I don’t think I even remember how to knit any more!

  • I love crochet, and Lion Brand yarn is my favorite!

  • Definitely crochet

  • Crochet – all the way!

  • I do both. I prefer knitting. I started crocheting years ago when I was having a lot of anxiety and panic issues. A doctor recommended knitting or crocheting. I bought a book, some yarn and hook and taught myself. I also taught myself to knit which is what I do now. It helps me relax. I love it. Always working on one or more projects.

  • I like to knit. Less yarn and so many options!

  • Learned to knit as a child.

  • Knitting!

  • I love crochet. My mother helped me learn when I was younger. Haven’t stopped since then. I’ve made dresses for my friend’s daughters and for my daughters. I also like to make little hats and diaper covers for newborns. I like the look of knitted garments but haven’t learned to knit yet. Hopefully I will someday.

  • Crochet is my bag of tricks for making lovely things and Super wash pink peony is my favorite color although blue jean is a rival. Love all the Lion Brand yarns. I knit, too but mostly crochet.

  • Crochet- I’m trying to learn new patterns and techniques. I am very passionate about crafting and wanting to learn more and get better.

  • I do both. Prefer knitting. Years again I was having anxiety and panic issues. A doctor recommended crocheting and/or knitting. I bought a book, yarn and a hook. Taught myself to crochet and knit. Now I do knitting more than crocheting. It is very good therapy for anxious times. I’m always working on one or more projects.

  • I love them both, but knitting seems more therapeutic . If the pattern is simple, my hands take over and my mind can calm down from a crazy day .

  • To knit and create something that is not only eye appealing but timeless..

  • Crocheting!!!!!

  • I love to knit and crochet (as I think they’re useful for different things), but I’ll have to say knitting as I’ve been exploring new knitting techniques more recently.

  • Whoops! Sorry about the duplication.

  • Knitting is my favorite, but I do crochet on occasion. Thanks!

  • I love to knit, especially now that I’m retired and have more time.

  • Crochet

  • This is a tough question. I learned how to crochet first and am more confident in my crochet skills but I also love knitting. My projects bounce back and forth between knit and crochet. I don’t think I can choose between the two. I love them both!!!

  • I prefer the look and feel of knitting, and knit compulsively, but every now and then crochet is necessary to give the right edge to a project. But I think knitting, especially lace, looks more graceful, and knitting is less sensitive when it comes to stretch and fit.

  • knitting

  • I have loved knitting ever since I was young and quarantined with the measles. There was no TV, to keep me occupied, so my mother taught me how to knit. I loved knitting except, I was a new learner and kept dropping stitches and did not know how to cast on, etc so I kept calling her from my bed, to come and fix things. She probably was sorry she ever showed me how to knit(it was washing day and she was very busy) But it was the best thing that ever happened to me(NOT THE MEASLES!)

  • I love to do both knit and crochet, I’m 73 years old and began crocheting at the age of nine,as a teen i taught my mom to knit. I basically taught myself to do both knit and crochet. I’m a grandmother and a great grandmother and now enjoy teaching them.

  • Crochet!!!

  • Hard choice…I love both, crochet is faster for me, but knitting is my favorite.

  • My mother started me crochet when I was ten. Then when I was in middle school my home room teacher thought me how to knit. I haven’t put my needles down since.. I love to knit. Crocheting is sometimes a nice trim on something I am knitting. I am so happy to be able to do both. I wish my mother was still here so she could see what she started all those years ago.

  • CROCHET. I taught myself when I was in my teens in order to be able to make a granny afghan and have stuck with it ever since. Now I can find lots of new ideas in videos. I sometimes wish I could learn to knit but have never succeeded in getting past making a huge mess.

  • I’m just learning to crochet by watching videos, so these books and yarn will be a great help. 🙂

  • I love both crochet and knitting.
They are both great crafts and can
    create beautiful and sometimes magical
    things.

  • Crochet

  • I love to knit and crochet but crochet is my favorite. It’s easier to fix your mistakes with crochet! I mostly make afgans and shawls because they don’t have to fit (which is above my pay grade). The yarns are so beautiful these days that I have absolute years of crochet planned.

  • I love crochet.

  • I like both knitting and crochet.

  • Crochet but only because I’m faster at it. I’m working on improving my knitting skills so they will have equal love, lol. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Crochet please , can only manage one stitch at a time,!

  • Knitting. My mother taught me when i was a child. Everything i knit now has a little of my mother knit into it, 62 years later.

  • My favorite craft is crochet and I love many of the Lion Bran Yarns and have been crocheting over 50 years, since I was a young girl!

  • Crochet, I had stopped crocheting for about 25 years. Then last September I broke my pelvis and was retired. I did nothing but sit and watch TV at first. Crocheting again saved my sanity because it gave me something to do. I find it very relaxing. I plan to learn to crochet graphgans.

  • I am 82 years old my Mom taught me to crochet when I was about 7 making dishcloths, I didn’t knit until I was in my 20ty’s. Love both, Love Lion Brand Yarns. A few years ago I was making an afghan, ran out of one of the colors, called Lion, they sent me a ball of yarn, I was a happy hooker. Thank You for your help and all your patterns on your website

  • I love both! I usually just work alternately…knit a project and then crochet a project! That way I don’t forget anything for either craft.

  • I love crochet, started when I was about 11 years old. My grandmother taught me!!

  • I knit and crochet, for scarfs, mittens, hats, and afghans, and I love those colors, thank you ellen

  • crochet

  • knitting

  • I am relatively new to crochet and look forward to learning about knitting once I have mastered all of the crochet stitches. This is a fascinating activity that produces functional products and relieves mental stress as well.

  • I love crochet, I have done it for over 50 years and have been teaching it for almost 8 years! I also knit but crochet is so relaxing and enjoyable with quick results. It’s also full of grace as it is easy to fix a mistake.

  • Crochet

  • Currently crochet. I do both crafts but crochet is more challenging for me currently.

  • I only know how to crochet, have not learned how to knit.

  • I lean toward knitting but I’m trying to get better at crochet. If I had to choose I’d say knitting.

  • Kitting

  • Crochet! It’s super fast to make small, cute amigurumi!

  • Knitting. I learned from my mom when I was 6 or 7 years old. She’s been gone a long time now, but when I knit it’s like she’s right there with me. It’s a great craft, very relaxing and satisfying!

  • Knitting is something I have loved to do since my mother taught me how many, many years ago.

  • I love Crochet! My dearest Mother taught me many, many years ago. I taught my 2 daughters and want to teach my Granddaughter soon.Teaching others starts a lifetime of enjoyment for any craft. (I taught myself some knitting and want to try it again when I have time). I am still working at age 72 (substitute teaching). Sometimes, when I can, I take crochet projects to school. Often students ask me to show them how to crochet. I show them a little(not enough time) but then direct them to U-Tube sites that teach crafts. One student told me that she learned to knit from one site, and made a scarf for a senior required project. Another student who knew how to crochet made a blanket for her friend’s birthday. I love hearing that many young people are keeping crochet and knitting crafts alive. Hope that they will pass them on for many generations!

  • Crochet!

  • I love both knitting and crochet. I think I prefer knitting more, but I’m faster at crocheting.

  • I mainly knit and have enjoyed using merino yarn in the past–so soft and easy to knit with!

  • I’ve been knitting for 80 years; love it. I’m making a Shawl in a Ball right now. It’s looking good.

  • I knit regularly. I really enjoy this craft. Have been knitting since I was 9 years old. I love making all things “baby.” But have reached out and made socks and sweaters for adults.

  • Knitting

  • Knitting. I knit several hundred chemo caps a year and enjoy combining yarns and trying new patterns so recipients have something that is individual.

  • This is a tough decision to choose between the 2 hobbies!!! I just learned to crochet and made 80 granny squares to make Christmas stockings out of. Such fun! However, I also knit and have made all my grand daughters doll clothes just recently.
    Soooo surprise me??? Please!!!!

  • I love knitting.

  • CROCHET!

  • I love to crochet just about anything from Afghans, baby blankets to Ornaments and anything in between.

  • I have crocheted for 50 years. I have recently taught myself to knit. So, I really need knitting info to help enhance my newfound skills. Slow but steady!

  • Crochet

  • Certainly when it speaks of hand-woven pieces, emotion invades me. I love the work done at Crochet. In fact this was my first job in life. I was barely 13 years old when in the summer of 1978, I was paid for just learning the trade. I never thought that learning would become my passion. When people understand the reasons why we spent hours knitting and looking for new ideas to develop with our hands, maybe they would understand the path that leads us to such beautiful art.

  • Crochet. I loves to crochet because I learned this hobby first as a girl from my grandmother and my mother. I also have fond memories of watching my great-grandmother crochet in her old age.

  • Knitting is the best! I’m doing two projects right now, a cardigan that zips with patch pockets in the front for my husband, and a sweet tank top with daisys down the front for my oldest girl. Knitting rules!

  • I love both knitting and crochet but if I had to choose which to take to a desert island – it’d be knitting!

  • Knitting is my favorite.

  • Mainly a crocheter, though I do know the basics of continental knitting.

  • Love knitting. It’s therapy with friends.

  • Crochet is my favorite yarn activity.

  • Knitting, knitting knitting but at present I am teaching myself the art of crochet

  • I prefer knitting, but am recently enjoying learning to crochet.

  • Knitting! I don’t know how to crochet

  • Definitely knitting! I’m all thumbs at crochet.

  • I love knitting and creating my own designs, sadly crochet comes a poor second…I really should do more!

  • Crochet I love crochet because of all the things you can make can do some on the go some just to relax and let the world and all the problems go away

  • I crochet and knit. I love to do both because they are different.

  • I prefer knitting. Years ago I was having anxiety and panic attacks. The doctor told me to learn to knit and/or crochet. I bought books, yarn, and hooks and needles. Taught myself to do both. It has been good therapy through the years. I love it and usually have one or two projects going all the time.

  • Knitting is a serendipitous zen experience.

  • I LOVE to knit — it is my creative outlet!

  • Crochet!

  • Knitting is my favorite!!

  • I’ve left a comment three times. Each time it was deleted. Why?

  • Knitting!
I enjoy them both but I like the intricacy of knitting
and the countless patterns and variations it offers.

  • I love crochet!

  • Knitting.

  • Knitting is my favorite craft.

  • I love crocheting the best. I learned at the age 7 out of a 25 cent book from the local Five and Dime store. That was 54 years ago!! I am pretty sure I have spent my kids and grandkids inheritance in yarn over the years!!!

  • I like crochet. Thank goodness for youtube. I am very thankful to all those crafters who post “How to” videos. I am a beginner and continue to learn all the time.

  • Knitting

  • My favorite is CROCHET — always!

  • crochet

  • Love knitting
    Ok with crochet.

  • Hard to decide between knit and crochet but I will say KNIT.

  • Knitting is my second love and one I’m always wanting to improve. I’ve knitted mostly small projects and want to work on making sweaters. Love Margaret Hubert and feel confident that with her guidance can knit to the next level.

  • I love knitting best. Not only does the rhythm of the needles relax me as I am working on my projects, it brings back great memories of watching my mother knit. They were always amazing and intricate pieces that were gifts for others.

  • Recently rediscovered my love for crochet! It was like riding a bicycle, you never forget. Hope to keep on exploring new patterns and techniques..

  • I’ve tried over and over to knit, but I’m definitely a crochet girl!

  • I taught myself to crochet when my daughter asked me to make her a BB-8 amigurumi. Well, it took me lots of frogging and almost two months but I did it. It’s been three years now and I am even doing doilies. Crochet makes me happy.

  • Knitting

  • Crochet is my favorite!!

  • Knitting – my Mum taught me both many many many years ago LOL However I found knitting easier for me in the beginning and when the urge hit I would grab a set of needles. In the past couple of years amaguri has taken my interest. Unicorns, one eyed monsters, octopus, gold fish and many other cute stuffies populate my little corner of the world. If I’m stuck I still defer to my Mum who at 91 still out knits/crochet me!!!!

  • Knit

  • My favorite craft is crochet because I think it is more versatile

  • Crochet !!!

  • Crocheting is a stress relief for me. Tried knitting but it was too hard for me.

  • love to crochet

  • I enjoy crocheting more.

  • I love both knitting & crochet . I started to crochet in my teens & then “grew” into knitting as my family grew. I have been enjoying both for over 50 years and am still learning new things about my crafts

  • crochet

  • ❤️ Knit

  • I LOVE croche!!. My mom taught me knitting, and crochet when I was around 9-10 years old. But knitting was just too much restrictive for me. As an adult I came back to crochet around my 40 years old…before that, I had try and done many other crafts. Youtube was my teacher this time! It is when I saw an amigurumi cat that I wanted to try crochet again…and I did a lot!. I crochet hundreds of amigurumis throught the years. More recently, I’ve been interested in clothes, home decor, etc. I’m also following crochet youtubers and post cast. They’re really is a crochet communauty out there, and its members are ( most of the time!) awesome persons.

  • Crochet

  • I mostly knit, sometimes teach beginner knitting to school kids. I occasionally add crochet eddges to knitted items.

  • I do both but crochet is my favorite!

  • I enjoy knitting

  • Crochet. My Grandmother taught me when I was a little girl. Recently learned to knit, but definitely crochet is my favorite and my comfort zone.

  • Crochet!

  • I love to knit. I taught my self how.

  • I know juuuuust enough crochet to be able to use it as needed in my knitting projects! 😀 Which is hilarious to me, because most of the women in my family crochet and don’t knit at all. But crochet just never tweaked that “crafty” bone for me like tatting and knitting do.

  • I love knitting. I taught myself hows to know not yet a year ago. I have made three baby afghans, a bunch of mug rugs, and a shawl. I am currently working on an afghan for a co-worker.

  • I love knitting and enjoy the challenge of learning to knit new things. I mostly knit for family and friends but recently joined a knitting group at work where we knit for charity.

  • Crochet is what I do but I see so many knit patterns that are gorgeous. I would love to learn to knit.

  • Knitting!

  • I love to crochet, and trying to knit and loom knit. BOOKS ARE GREAT.!!

  • I love to crochet, and Lion Brand is my favorite yarn!

  • I like knitting best; but I am learning to crochet, so I’ll probably like both of them!

  • I like knitting best.

  • Crochet

  • That yarn is gorgeous for a crochet item! Thanks. Michelle

  • Knitting

  • For me, knitting is the best way to make sweaters, hats, gloves, mittens, etc. I’ve been knitting for ages. I don’t know how many Irish knit sweaters I’ve made over the years. I’ve also made Icelandic sweaters. I love to make warm winter hats and mittens. It doesn’t matter if it’s on two needles, four needles, or a circular needle. I enjoy knitting from the top down, too — hardly any seams. My mother taught me the regular way to knit when I was very young, and a friend at work taught me to knit Portuguese style. Now I’m trying to learn Continental style.

  • I love to knit. I knit a lot of prayers shawls because I am part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry in our church. We knit prayer shawls, which are blessed by our priest when they are completed. We try to have enough shawls available so the priest, or anyone in the congregation can give a shawl to anyone in need of comfort, and blessing who may be ill, or who is going through a difficult time. We can always use more yarn for this purpose. I also love to make gifts (baby outfits or blankets, afghans, etc.) when I get a chance.

  • Crochet!

  • Crochet

  • I love knitting!

  • Both are great, but knitting would have to be the winner!

  • My first love is crochet, but I am proudly bi-stitchual!! I enjoy exploded lace crochet and keep busy with simple garter stitch knitting. PS: Just love those spring pink color yarns.

  • I;m left handed and my aunt taught me how to crochet left handed when I was a teenager. I learned how to knit in my 20’s with a group lunchtimes where I worked. I always assumed that knitting was a neutral craft as it required both hands. Little did I know that I was learning how to knit right handed. I;m a much better knitter and enjoy knitting as I can read and follow the directions without any problems.

  • My grandmother started me out with knitting doll clothes and then taught me to crochet. 60 years later and I still do both. So either crochet or knotting will work for me.

  • I have knitted since I was 8 and then taught myself to crotchet. I still hold it as if I am knitting. My daughter at the age of 40 has just decided to learn to crotchet. I am trying to reach my Grand daughters with slow progress. I would love to win either book to encourage these wonderful crafts.

  • I’m a beginning crocheter. It’s my saving grace when it comes to having an antidote for life`s stresses. Its also fun that crochet encourages social interaction. I have a new set of friends that encourage and support my new found activity.

  • My favorite craft is knitting. I enjoy both knit and crochet but I like the way my knit items look with finer details. I enjoy crocheting afghans since it is quicker. I would love to win the books and yarn and create something new!

  • Crochet. Afgans, throws, toys, baby clothes.

  • Have always loved crocheting

  • Knitting is my favorite!

  • I do both, but prefer knitting for most things. Blankets are still all crochet, but most everything else I prefer to knit.

  • Knitting is my craft of choice!

  • I enjoy crochet and knitting. I work with women who have suffered from trauma and addiction. I have found that when they have been given the gift of knitting or crochet it has helped them so much. It is such calming and creative way to spend their time. I know of women who I have taught to crochet or knit who have been doing this craft for many years now. I hope that I can still do this in the future for many years to come because I find it so rewarding that I am able to give someone something that gives them the ability to make something that makes them feel they have accomplished something on their own. This is a blessing for those women who have learned that this is something that they can enjoy for themselves and for others as well.

  • Crochet is calming, rewarding, great for gift giving.

  • Knitting or crocheting? It depends on the pattern. After knitting for years, I had to teach myself to crochet because of all the wonderful designs. I just wanted it all! But I guess my favorite craft is knitting.

  • Crochet! I keep promising myself I’ll try out knitting, but I can’t stay away from my hooks!

  • I love to crochet! My grandmother taught me to chain at 5 years old. I have almost been crocheting for 50 years!

  • Love Knitting for the beauty it creates. Love crochet for the mindless muscle memory that allows me work without looking. 🙂

  • Knitting

  • crocheting!!

  • Love to crochet!

  • Both are wonderful was of making functional art, great hobbies, and soothing remedies for mind and soul. I prefer to crochet though. It was easier to manage when I was a small child and when an cruel disease lay waste to the functionality of my joints and muscles. Crocheting provided me with therapy, an intimate way of providing for the needs of others and a legacy to be remembered. My love will be felt everytime one of my children snuggle under the warmth of a comforter I put that love into creating for them personally. Everytime they wrap one of their children in the blanket I wrapped them in. In the warmth of every hat, scarf, mittens, sweater and so on, my love can live on through crocheting.

  • Crochet is my favorite.

  • Taught myself how to crochet first. Love the ease and speed of getting a garment done in no time. Teaching myself to knit right now. Love all the available resources on the website and advice and tips that other Knitters provide so other knitters can improve on their knitting skills.

  • Crochet- Because these books look intriguing!
I also knit, but lately have been doing a lot of charity blankets and crocheting is quicker.
*Thank you, Lion Brand, for being so generous and up to date!!

  • Crochet

  • I knit every day. It is my passion and have been knitting for 70years. I recently taught myself how to crochet. So far I have made 20 dishcloths

  • I love to knit. I’m slowly improving my skills using books and this website. Lion brand yarns are my absolute favorite, both for quality of the yarns and colors / weights available. My grandmother could do them all: sewing, knitting, crochet and tatting. I hope she’d be proud of my efforts. 🙂

  • I like crochet because it is faster than lnitting. I also like crocheting amigurumi.

  • Knitting.

  • I love loom knitting, trying to learn the rest

  • Crochet!

  • Crochet

  • Crochet

  • Knitting. Though I also like crocheting.

  • I do both, knitting is my favorite. I learned to knit first, so I think that is my favorite.

  • Knitting!

  • Knitting has taken over as the number one favorite in my multi-craftual toolbox.

  • I love both, of course! They are relaxing. They give me a sense of accomplishment. And they bring me joy when I give them as gifts. Knitting was my first love, but now crocheting is my current love!

  • Knitting but if/when I can’t knit, I crochet! Both are the beat!

  • My favorite is knitting, right now. I am better at crochet, but I am trying to become fully bicraftual 😉

  • I do both but I prefer crochet.

  • KNITTER!!

  • I love knitting and crocheting, but I think I enjoy the challenge of knitting more. So, I guess that I would have to claim knitting as more fulfilling and enjoyable.

  • Knitting!

  • I love both crocheting and knitting. I find that I can crochet much easier and it is very calming plus relaxing. Since I have a new puppy, I am trying to teach her to help me crochet as did my previous dogs.

  • My favorite now is knitting. When I was younger and in a hurry my favorite was crochet. Knitting suits me & my hands better now.

  • knit

  • Crochet

  • Crochet!!! I learned to crochet as a young adult (I’m now 65), did a few afghans and then didn’t crochet for years. About 10 years ago I got a Learn to Knit kit at Michael’s, but couldn’t get it. I was going to take it to a women’s retreat I was going to, but forgot it. While sitting with my friends that knitted during a free time, I noticed one woman crocheting and thought I should just re-learn crochet. After re-learning crochet, someone who knew I have tendinitis of my thumbs told me that crochet is easier on my thumbs than knitting would be. I also realized that if I crochet, my items can’t be directly compared to my sister who knits. (you never totally outgrow sibling rivalry ). The only downside is I don’t know very many crocheters so it can be hard to get help.

  • Knitting, please.

  • I love to crochet. I never did learn to knit but I still have a goal to learn. I hadn’t crocheted for years and I took a class this winter to learn anew. It all came back to me flashfast and I learned a few new tricks in the class. Crochet has to be the most relaxing thing I have ever done!

  • Crochet – although I do both I enjoy the myriad of textures with crochet.

  • Knitter because its easier on my carpel tunnel

  • Crochet ! #CrochetTwinCities

  • Crochet. I tried to learn to knit but kept dropping stitches so I gave up.

  • I prefer to crochet baby blankets but also knit baby hats.

  • I love knitting socks it helps me concentrate on the greatest invention in human history. More people should do it!

  • I am fairly new to crocheting, just started about a year ago. : I joined a group called Heart Hook Home and now a year later I am crocheting cardigans. Just about finished with my 6th one. I’m making it for my oldest son who is 6′ 4 using Lion Brand, Wool-Ease, in Forest Green Heather yarn. It’s my 2nd one using this yarn and it works up wonderfully. I have also been Crocheting baby and toddler dresses, booties and hats and donate to charities. I think I’ve become a crochet addict. LOL

Good luck to everyone who enters!

  • I’ve knitted for a long time. Just completed my first crochet hat and love to learn more. The name is from the French term crochet, it means small hook. It’s so quick and I’m definitely hook.

  • I love knitting for all my apparel and accessories and blankets, I like to crochet for blankets and toys and some hats and scarves, in truth it is very hard for me to choose between the two as I knit every day and crochet a lot at night….. I love knitting books the best….. BOY, this is hard ;-).

  • CROCHET. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO LEARN TO KNIT.

  • CROCHET!

  • Knitting is my new favorite because I’m trying to improve my skills.

  • Right now crocheting is my addiction. But I now want to learn to knit. There are just some things that only look great knitted.

  • My favorite is KNITTING because I can make so many nice things. No wait, my favorite is CROCHETING because I can make so many cute things. No, KNITTING, because it is calming and meditative. But, CROCHETING because the different stitches engage and enliven my brain. No, KNITTING because it’s so easy to count stitches. Never mind, CROCHETING is my favorite because it’s so easy to count rows. Definitely KNITTING because it reminds me that I can teach myself anything. Wait, CROCHETING because it reminds me of my grandmother who taught me.

  • CROCHET. I want to learn to knit as well.

  • I learned to crochet when I was around 12 and then I learned to knit in high school in Home Ec. Crochet is my preferred craft; but I, also, like knitting.

  • Crochet

  • I love both knitting and crocheting But crocheting is easier and more forgiving. I do find knitting does take less yarn. Thank you for the offers.

  • The name says it all !

  • I love to knit and crochet. Knitting is my favorite because I have done it the longest and it comes so easy. But I love the cute patterns and different things you can do with crocheting.

  • I absolutely love knitting. I taught myself with a book when I was about 8 years old and the passion has never ended. Knitting has been a way to pass time, forget about stress, and enjoy the creativity that comes from making something yourself.

  • Taught myself to knit and crochet years ago. Now knitting is my favorite. Great therapy for anxious times.

  • Knitting is my passion. I started as a crocheter and learned to knit 20 years ago. So I do both, I think it’s really a textile thing. I am just starting my hand at weaving too.

  • I taught myself to knit and crochet over 50 years ago. Prefer knitting now. Good therapy during anxious times. I always have one or two projects going.

  • Crochet, thank you. I just can’t seem to get the tension right for knitting, though I have tried several times and will continue to try.

  • Crochet

  • Depending on what I am making I do both but I tend to go towards crochet more because I don’t need long cables …..love to do tunisian crochet as well!!!

  • CROCHET

  • I love them both! But knitting probably edges out crochet by a hair…

  • I knit!

  • My favorite craft is knitting because it is what I learned to do first and because I think it looks better than crochet. Although, I love to crochet amiguirimi.

  • I definitely prefer knitting. I only know the basics of crochet.

  • I prefer knitting for wearables, but prefer crochet for blankets, shawls and cowls.

  • I came to knitting as an adult; I learned to crochet as a child and came back to it after I had been knitting for a while. I use crochet for travel projects (washcloths) and more sculpted projects, like baskets. When I knit, I enjoy patterns that have variety and are also regular enough that I am able to knit while watching television. Mostly, I knit many one-skein projects — shawls, scarves, and shawlettes. which let me try a lot of different yarns and patterns. I hope to start doing more with garments, which is why I am particularly interested in both of the knit books in the giveaway.

  • Knitting – always knitting.

  • Crochet

  • I am learning to knit!

  • Crochet

  • So hard to choose because I love both. But I’ve been knitting for longer and will always be a knitter at heart. #Knit

  • My first love is CROCHET. I do also knit and love it as well.

  • I’m a knitter and crocheter but my first love is knitting. That giant banana split project looks amazing though.

  • Crochet for sure!

  • I love to knit and crochet.
    I tend to crochet more.

  • Knitting because the projects turn out better for me than the ones I crochet.

  • I like knitting but I stared out crocheting..

  • I crochet. I make blankets and shawls for my Hugs from Heaven ministry.

  • I love knitting. I find it very relaxing to sit by the fire during winter with an afghan getting longer and longer as I continue to knit. This keeps my knees warm. During the summer months I knit smaller items; baby sweater sets, cotton dresses and beach wear. The books look interesting and I’m sure that I’d love the wool. Thank you.

  • I love them both! If I had to choose, I would have to say knitting. I think the finished product holds a beautiful sophistication.

  • I can do both, but CROCHET IS MY PASSION!!

  • Knitting like a kitten, Crochet like a lion
    Knitting is my pick

  • I LOVE to knit!!! Sometimes my family will catch me snuggling with my yarn. One of the projects I’m knitting right now is your pattern for flip top mittens with Heartland yarn. They are for my friend that moved off to college. The pattern and yarn are equally amazing!

  • I’m a knitter, self-taught as a teenager, but I finish edges with crochet. Often I create garments without using a pattern, and may knit off the axis, and sometimes use crochet to get where I need to go.

  • Crochet. About 8 years ago, my co-worker taught me how. My 1st project was a pair of knee high socks made with Lion Brand’s Woolease.

  • Currently crochet

  • I love crocheting for my grandchildren! Sure would like to win!

  • Crochet all the way, baby!

  • I can knit and crochet. However my preference is to crochet. Crocheting relaxes me but it also is a wonderful way to create something with a ball of yarn that shares happiness and caring to many people.

  • I love both knitting and crocheting . I have been crocheting baby sets as oh late for 3 new grandbabies all due by summer.. However I find knitting to be very rewarding and just purchesed the yarn to complete beautiful shawl I purchesed the pattern for

  • I crochet every day, it helps with my anxiety, depression and neuropathy. Definitely the best therapy one can have to escape into a pattern and hear the mandra in your head “just one more row, just one more row…”

  • One Piece knits and Customizing my knitting is my choice!

  • I love knitting for many reasons: The best is that it’s therapeutic as it’s gotten me some tough times in my life, by letting me do something for someone else and take my mind off my own problems.

  • Crochet!

  • I love to knit! Generally working on a couple of things, one st home and one to take with me to knitting groups. Currently making a lovely cable & lace afghan for a wedding gift and some blue hats for #hatnothate with my knitting group. Since retirement knitting has moved from being a hobby to a major part of my life, some of my best friends now are people I’ve met through my knitting groups. Always looking for a new project so would love to win this drawing!

  • I love to knit. I have very few knitting books, I depend mostly on the internet when I don’t devise my own patterns. I’d like some new ideas from a book.

  • My first love is crochet. But I also knit and am loving that too. Thanks for this great giveaway. Books and yarn=bliss!
