We’re thrilled to feature another post by one of our favorite bloggers, Alexandra Tavel from Two of Wands! She’s here to tell us all about the One Fine Day Cardigan she designed for our new Fall/Winter Style Guide.
You can find the knit kit here!
When it comes to fall in New York City, the most exciting part of the season for me is “sweater weather.” I love layering big, chunky knits over every outfit and indulging in the coziness of it all.
For my second piece in Lion Brand’s Fall/Winter Style Guide capsule collection, I knew I wanted to do an easy, oversized knit that could be layered easily to be worn over a variety of outfits. The One Fine Day Cardigan is perfect for a jeans and t-shirt look, or a dress with boots.
The garment is lightweight due to the soft and fluffy nature of New Basic 175 yarn, but it’s also enveloping and warm.
It makes a great companion for a stroll through the streets or a cup of tea on the couch.
When I design I am always mindful of the difficulty of my patterns. I like to keep my pieces on the easy end of the scale while still being fashion forward. The One Fine Day Cardigan is no exception. With simple stitches like stockinette and seed stitch, and minimal shaping just at the shoulders, this piece is beginner-friendly if you know a few basic techniques.
It’s the first knit I grab when there’s a chill in the air, and I’ll be wearing it over turtlenecks well into the season to increase its longevity.
