I’m Marie from Underground Crafter and I’m here to kick off the Phoenix Wrap Crochet-a-Long in the versatile and soft Lion Brand Jeans!
I designed this pattern in support of one of my favorite charities that accepts handmade donations, Sue Rock Originals Everyone, Inc. This is a local New York City organization that transforms new and upcycled textiles into new, handmade clothing and accessories for survivors of domestic violence. Handmade gifts are made with love, and clothing and accessories help to rebuild the wardrobes of domestic violence survivors.
I was inspired by the phoenix, a mythical bird that is reborn from the ashes, to create a shawl that could be a wardrobe staple, something that could be worn in a variety of ways all year round. I chose Lion Brand Jeans because it’s super soft, easy to care for in the washing machine, and because of its versatile, denim look.
You can make your Phoenix Wrap for yourself, to gift, to donate to Sue Rock Originals Everyone, Inc. or locally, or to sell.
Sue Rock Originals Everyone, Inc. was founded in 2005. In addition to providing crochet, knitting, and sewing classes for children, teens, and domestic violence survivors, Sue Rock Originals Everyone also coordinates the distribution of handmade garments and wardrobe staples for women living in domestic violence shelters.
Founder Sue Rock has previously been named the New Yorker of the Week by NY1. Watch the video below to find out more!
I’ve designed a textured and cozy rectangular wrap in 3 colors of Lion Brand Jeans with Sue Rock Originals Everyone, Inc. in mind. This pattern is simple enough for a dedicated beginner but versatile enough that more advanced crocheters will want to join in. The Phoenix Wrap will be released in 3 parts to give you time to work on it.
The Phoenix Wrap is a rectangular shawl crocheted in 3 sections.
To make this pattern, you will need:

I have worked for 45 minutes to try and download the Phoenix pattern. I have been led thru a Chrome download and a revelry.com site to no avail. I still can’t get the pattern. What do I do?
