This week (May 23 – 29, 2019) on the Lion Brand site we’re featuring travel projects. These include things you can take along and also several bags that can be packed as projects for the road or used to pack for your travels. Included in the assortment of kits are a few new styles as well as some favorites from last Summer.
One of the featured bags, The Miller Bag (below) was recently featured in another blog post. The kit went live right around Mother’s Day and I had to crochet it up right away as a gift. (Mom loved it and she has been using it as a shopping bag.) It’s a super simple pattern. If you can work a half double crochet stitch then you can make this bag! I decided to purchase a faux leather strap and use it in place of the crochet one, but either way is just as cute!
All About Ami designed the cutest little crochet backpack. It’s worked up in 24/7 Cotton yarn. This one is perfect for carrying little essentials. Wallet, chapstick, sunscreen, or even a small knit/crochet project!
The granny square-style center motif gives this a very retro/boho feel. I’d love to have this bag for festivals and beach trips.
Most bag designs seem to be crochet, but this one’s for knitters! Also worked from 24/7 Cotton yarn, the Straw Knit Backpack has a carefree casual vibe. Although the photos are [beautifully] shot in a nature scene, I feel like this one would fit well in an urban setting. Think the mall or a city park.
The Florence Backpack is crocheted using one of my favorite Summer yarn, Rewind. This flat, almost paper-like, ribbon yarn works up at a bulky gauge yet is very lightweight.
