 fyi – The Stockinette Stitch Shrug pattern is not linked to the picture, however, it can be found in patterns under this name. My next project, after the crocheted beach bag–I love crocheted bags!

If you are making a summer hat it is best to use a light colored yarn, to help deflect the heat of the sun. A dark color, as shown in the photo, will make the head too warm for comfort or safety in the hot summer sun.
