I have to say-this is a video about dying Acrylics? And all you show is dying wools? What? How about a real life example with Rit Dyemore?

She did talk about dying “Scarfie” which is a combination of acrylic and wool with the new dye that is for acrylics but can also dye the natural it was the two tone coffee/tan yarn and she spoke of dyeing it with a shade of blue..very last part before talking about the tea sample the host received from a viewer/customer..It’s too bad that a little more time could have been spent on dyeing the acrylics or polyesters as that’s what most of the yarn being used today by avid knitters/crocheters.

But with some wool it’s still far from being something that doesn’t take dye. I dye a lot of clothing items and if it is partially a natural product it will take the dye, no problem-it will just be lighter in color. Pure acrylic is a different story. I don’t know this blogger, and it’s not her fault, but Rit should be ashamed in my opinion. They should have demonstrated on a white pure acrylic yarn-there are no excuses for that.

I love Tea with Shira, and love the new Rit dye product for synthetics – thank-you a million trillion times for the heads up on it! I live in the UK and a quick search online has me over the moon to find the dye for synthetics is now being sold over here. Again, thank-you, Shira, and thank-you, Rit Dye!

I’ve watched 3 Tea with Shira. I put on the closed captioning, because I have trouble hearing sometimes. The one with Nikki was the worst! While they were talking about dolls, the captions said “dogs.” And when Nikki said, Matel, the caption read “tails.” Didn’t the captioner watch the video? Now, I’m not even sure if that’s the way “Nikki” spells her name. The captions did not use a dash to indicate who was speaking. It read like one person was talking all the time, putting another’s words in what one person said.

Hi Sharon, in this case the captioner is a computer! Speech recognition software has a ways to go to be sure and I’m certain YouTube is working on it. — Danielle
