When you turn 140, it’s key to have a fun way to celebrate. So we’ve been counting down our top 140 patterns, and this is the roundup for weeks 3 & 4! To keep up, you’ll want to follow us on Instagram, and check out the hashtag #LBY140. In case you don’t use Instagram, you can find roundups of all the patterns on the blog. Here are all the patterns featured in the first two weeks of our countdown, so you can get inspired for your summer crafting.
Week 3 features several beautiful pullovers, as well as some lovely throws. One especially lovely project is a wedding capelet, which could also be worked up for a fancy event of any kind. Then in Week 4, we get into some more autumnal colors! In both weeks, you’ll find some great options for transitional fashion, so you’ll be ready for fall-ish weather. Whether you’re looking for a pattern for a garment, accessory, or home item, you’ll find some wonderful ideas here.
First Easy Mesh Pullover (Crochet), with an open weave that’s perfect for summer. Then our Santa Monica Pullover (Knit), using our new yarn, Rewind. For all our Mandala Yarn lovers, the Roundabout Mandala Afghan (Crochet) is a glorious project. You’ll use not one but three of the most popular colors, so it’s sure to make an astounding focal point for any living room.
Another colorful afghan is our Traffic Throw Pattern (Knit), though you might want to put it in a completely different room. If you have or know some kiddos who are into cars, then this throw is perfect for their room. Our Caribe Summer Bag (Crochet Kit) would be an excellent way to spice up your summer accessories rotation.
And another lovely afghan ends our third week, the Slip Stitch Sampler Throw (Knit). It’s a Vanna’s Choice project, which is one of our most beloved yarns. Plus, its colors are subdued enough for this throw to fit in with your decor. Finally, our Wedding Capelet (Crochet) is a very special project for a big day. If you know a bride-to-be, it would be an amazing ‘something new’.
To start the fourth week of our epic countdown, a stunning crochet piece. The Counterpoint Top (Crochet) is another wonderful transitional piece, since the color verges on autumnal. The 24/7 Cotton it uses is also lightweight, so you could wear it alone or over a tee as pictured above. Then two wraps, the Starlight Evening Shawl (Crochet) and Two Tone Scarf Wrap (Crochet Wrap).
The Easy Crochet Shrug (Crochet) is a perfect first garment for either those newer to crochet, or for crafters looking for a quick project. Another slightly more complicated garment is the Modern Cable Pullover (Knit). This project will have you working cables without too much of a headache, since it’s only a Level 2 pattern.
Now we don’t want to play favorites, but the Cobble Hill Pullover (Knit) is one of our cutest sweaters ever. If you’ve been thinking of casting on a sweater, then this would be a great pick. Plus it’s a Mandala Yarn project, so the color-striping will take care of itself. Last but definitely not least is our Slip Stitch Afghan Pattern (Knit).
However you’re choosing to follow along with our countdown, we hope you’re finding some fun new patterns as well as a trip down memory lane. Please let us know in the comments if you’ve made any of these projects before, or something you’d like to try! Whether it’s your first or 140th project with us, we’re so happy you craft with Lion Brand. Stay tuned for the next installment of our top 140 patterns.
