Knit Batman Socks

This summer I blogged about dyeing some yellow yarn for a sock project. I’m finally ready to show off my finished project, Batman socks!
Batman socks
Everyone who knows me knows that I adore both Batman and knitting socks, so the combination seemed inevitable. To complete this project, I first knit a pair of plain cuff-down socks with Snow Cone Sock-Ease. Using this great chart created by Elizabeth Thomas, I then duplicate stitched the Batman logo with my dyed Marshmallow Sock-Ease. The best part about this project is that both parts were very fast and easy, but the results are amazing!

  • Is the dying post still available? The link doesn’t seem to be working for me; it appears broken. Thanks, Chris

    • Hi Chris, yes, the link was broken, but it’s now fixed.

  • These socks are awesome! I have one more question for you…the chart is 45 stitches wide. You said you knit a basic pair of cuff down socks. Are we talking 64 stitches in the round? 72? I guess you’d want a fairly small stitch so that the chart worked well on the side. Thanks!

    • Hi, Chris. I generally cast on 64 stitches with size 2 needles for my socks. Depending on your knitting and the size of your ankle, you may use bigger/smaller needles and more/less stitches.

  • How do I get the pattern for these adorable socks! (That I will be making for grown men.) LOL

    • Jill,

She used a regular sock pattern, and used a chart to duplicate stitch the logo onto the socks. Hope that helps!
