The double crochet stitch is one of the most popular stitches in crochet – it is the star of the V stitch as well as thousands of interesting and complex stitch patterns – and it makes lovely fabric all on its own as well.
Here’s how the double crochet stitch is made – and a few fabulous free patterns you can make using it!
In other words, to make the double crochet stitch: yarn over, insert your hook in the indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, and then yarn over and pull through the last two loops.
