What is your favorite Lion Brand yarn?

What brought you to yarn (knitting/crochet)?

When I was a young child, I used to be mesmerized watching my grandmother knit and crochet.  I wanted to create beautiful things like she did so eventually she taught me to knit and crochet. 

Do you remember who taught you how to knit/crochet?  Tell us a bit about how you learned.

My grandmother initially taught me how to knit and crochet.  After years away from the craft, I took a Michaels class as an adult to re-learn the basics.

What is your favorite thing to make?

I love to make quick projects and anything that teaches me something new.  Accessories and amigurumi tend to be my go-to projects when I’m looking for something new to make.

Do you have a favorite stitch/pattern?

I love simple stitches that can be used to create a classic and textured design.  I love cables, Celtic weave stitch and thicket stitch for its simplicity and texture.

What’s the first project you finished? 

The first project I ever finished was an ear warmer.  It was so big it fit more like a cowl!  It’s great to look back and see the progress made since then.

Why are you a fan of LBY products?

I love the variety and quality.  When I buy a Lion Brand Yarn I know that it will be exactly what I need for the project and that I won’t be disappointed. I always find beautiful colours that inspire me as well.

Any other notable stories/experiences with yarn you’d like to share?

My favourite thing about yarn crafts is that you can give a group of people the same yarn and hooks/needles and each one of them will come up with a unique and beautiful expression of their own creativity.  I recently hosted my first crochet along and although we all followed the same pattern, people put their own unique touches on the pattern to make it their own.  In the end, we all had some beautifully unique creations and enjoyed helping each other and getting to know one another.  Yarn brought a bunch of strangers together and created a community.
