A Lion Brand Exclusive: Behind the Scenes of Our Offices in NYC

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

If you follow Lion Brand on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll sometimes find behind scenes images from photoshoots, upcoming yarn releases – or even pictures of some of the staff crafting, or at events. Today, I’d like to share with you a few “behind the scenes” images from our offices in the New York City location.  We recently invited a few of our favorite craft bloggers to spend a day with us at our Lion Brand offices, and I’d like to share a few of their images that capture some of the creativity and inspiration at Lion Brand.

Karen TanakaKristy from Glass Posse captured this image of Karen Tanaka, the Creative Director of our Design Department.  Karen was sharing some of the Design Department’s mood boards and inspirations. Lion and WalrusHaley from The Zen of Making captured an image of these cute stuffed animals, which were featured in past window displays.  The Lion can be seen here from the Studio’s 1st window display in 2008.

Greetings from New York CityCarrie from This Mama Makes Stuff snapped a photo of the giant yarn crafted “Greetings from New York City” postcard, which was featured as the Lion Brand Yarn Studio’s summer window display in 2011. David with Allison and HaleyHere is Lion Brand’s CEO, David Blumenthal with Allison from Petit Elefant and Haley, talking about the company’s family history, as shown in the “Lion Yarn Book”, Lion Brand’s book published in 1916.

Carrie captured this great photo of one of the Design Department’s style guide boards.  These images feature sketches of patterns that were designed for our Winter CHA 2012 Fashion Show.  You can see the garments and learn about the designers if you click here.
Lion Brand Studio Yarn
If you haven’t been to the Lion Brand Yarn Studio, here’s a glimpse of just SOME of the yarn that we sell in the store.

Thank you to Haley, Carrie, Kristy, Marie and Allison for spending the afternoon with us! I suggest that you take a peek at these ladies’ websites where you can find DIY tutorials, fashion tips, recipes, ideas for crafting with kids and a lot more.

    • Hi Sue Ray, sorry to hear about that. We’d be happy to replace the yarn–please contact support@lionbrand.com and one of our customer support people can help you with that issue.

Also, since comments left on our blog are public, we’ve edited your comment to delete your personal information to protect your privacy. Hope that helps.

  • Defrauded on the last four orders made with LB and your customer support will not return my emails or calls about getting my over $350.00 purchase price for chiffon ribbon back when they sent junk tshirt yarn & a package of wooden labels instead of what I ordered! I will be filing bank & mail fraud charges as well as a suit against you for malicious fraudulent intent against my personal business!
