You’ve Got to Try Color Made Easy

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We’re excited to introduce our newest Bulky Weight yarn, Color Made Easy. If you’ve been looking for a new favorite fiber, then get ready to fall in love. With 22 fabulously pigmented colors, you’ll be ready for any project on your list. Because it’s a multi-plied acrylic, there’s an extra oomph to the texture you’ll create. Plus, we’ve already got a bevvy of new patterns to inspire you in trendy crafting directions! To learn more about Color Made Easy, and see some of our newest patterns, read on.

New: Color Made Easy

One of the best features of this new yarn is how much bang you’ll get for your buck! Each skein of Color Made Easy weighs 7oz (200g), almost double the average skein. This will measure out to 247yd (226m), so you’ll easily finish smaller projects with just one. However, part of the fun is exploring the broad color palette available, so you might find yourself mixing several hues to create something totally unique. This 100% acrylic is also very easy to care for, so you can machine wash and dry any project, which is especially handy for accessories.

Color Made Easy: Patterns

Here we’ve collected just 12 of the available patterns for Color Made Easy, some knit and some crochet. As you’ll see, this bulky yarn lends itself perfectly not only to garments, but also to fun winter accessories. Because of the bulkiness, you’ll be able to craft quickly, so it might be a great option for gift projects, too!

Knit: 6 Patterns

The Somerdale Cardigan (Knit) nails that perfect color-blocking that’s still right on trend. Plus, the blue hues add a classic nautical vibe, so you can pair with skinny jeans, or over another brightly colored dress or skirt. The Catskills Ruana (Knit) features an extremely fashionable yet muted colorways, Avocado. The addition of a jumbo cable at each lapel heightens the runway vibe of this project. And you can really see the stitch definition of Color Made Easy in the Colonia Cropped Cardi (Knit)! When you’re looking to showcase your stitches, using a single color really makes that element pop.

Now, if you’re looking to get into some interesting color work, the Roscoe Scarf (Knit) would be a perfect introduction. This persimmon-hued scarf is patterned in that popular over-sized style, but the pops of color keep the look from overwhelming. You could also embrace the retro vibes possible with this fun yarn with a pattern like the Olivie Pullover (Knit). Don’t you just love the fun & funky color choices in this project? This is sure to be a completely unique addition to your wardrobe. If you’re looking for the ultimate in fun & function, then Meghan’s Hat (Knit) is going to get the job done. A classic toque shape, including the fun ribbing at the brim, but worked up in a fun color, is all the rage.

Crochet: 6 Patterns

Now for all our crocheters ready along, here are 6 very fun patterns that really show off the details of Color Made Easy. The Quinn Crochet Cardigan, with it’s kimono-style sleeves and bold lapels, will be a more-than-everyday layer. It’s definitely going to be comfy, but if you’re hoping to elevate your OOTD just a bit, it’s the perfect choice. Plus, you can really see the definition in the simple stitches. The Evergreen Avenue Scarf (Crochet) will also show off your stitching, with the added challenge of color work. We also love the vintage feel of this color palette that happens when you include that Avocado color. The Leonia Cowl (Crochet) is yet another example of sophisticated stitching made easy. Whether you’re looking for simple single-color ideas, or multi-colored pops of personality, Color Made Easy has options.

Color Made Easy is also great for home decor projects, which will work up quickly, like the Hunterdon Afghan (Crochet). With a mix of colors and stitches, there’s plenty to appreciate in this afghan without it overpowering your space. If anything, the pink and blue hues will add a little romance, which pairs well with the grounding neutral grays. Another romantically-hued project is the Linden Crochet Scarf. This very easy scarf would make a perfect first color work project for even more beginner crocheters. Another accessible accessory is the Lisa Hat (Crochet), in a fetching French blue. The two would actually look cute together with a simple coat!

  • It looks beautiful, would this be categorized as a #4 or 5: bulky type yarn? Thanks Lion Brand for all you do!
I’ve been using the Homespun to make lap blankets for the elderly women in my church and they love them. I’m wondering if this yarn will work up quickly .

  • Not sure where to complain so here I go. Bought 6 3 packets of Mandela yarn the pink blue and white still showing. I only received 3 colors I did not order and 2 that I did order for a total of 11, I was charged for 16 on invoice. I still want the colors I ordered and noticed still available. But, afraid to order again when already shorted once. Please let me know how to resolve my shortage and to get the colors I and did not receive. I still have copy of receipt and could take pictures of yarn if need be.

    Sincerelly
Disappointed customer first and probably last.

  • Are you no longer doing blog posts?

    • We had a little bit of a lapse on the blog, but we’re still here!

  • I’ve been looking for a contact. I have a few comments about this yarn but I don’t feel this is the best place to leave them. I recently purchased about 10 skeins from my local big box craft store, started working the first one and I have complaints and would like to know if I can send a private message. I’ve been accustomed to such high quality from Lion Brand and as I said I don’t think this is where I would like to air out my recent experience but after searching for what seems like forever, I haven’t found a contact. I will explain my disdain once I have a more private contact address. Thank you.

  • Please don’t stop making this yarn I simply love it!!! It works up so beautiful and the colors are Magnificant!!!!
