See which household items you can re-purpose to store your yarn in.

If you’re short on space, learn how to edit your stash to a manageable size.

While you’re at it, organize all your notions too!

Learn how to wind a center-pull ball by hand — it makes a difference when storing and working with yarn, really!

  • I just organized my entire stash slightly before the new year, I did it by fiber content. While I did make two chunky double stranded hats, the rest of my odds and ends will go to squares for a large blanket. I’ve got everything down to fitting in one large plastic storage bin. As for my large needle and notion collection, I divided those up by material as well, except for my antique needles which I keep seperate in a tote. As difficult as it shall be, I’ve promised myself that I won’t buy any new yarn until I’m done making that oddment blanket.
