Layer Your Way into Spring with These 5 Wrap Patterns

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

When the weather warms up, fashion gets confusing! It’s too nice for your heaviest winter gear, but not quite warm enough to leave the house with nothing. For transitional spring weather, which can be so variable, layers are key! One lovely layer to add as a finishing piece for any outfits is a wrap. Scroll down for 5 wrap patterns, chosen not only for their weight, but also for their color! Layer your way into spring with these bright looks.

Layer Your Way with Color

As you’re transitioning your wardrobe from the doldrums of winter into the coming summer months, a pop of color can help you make the change. Cold, precipitous weather affects our wardrobe palette, no matter how hard we try. So we celebrate the spring by adding color wherever we can! These 5 patterns all use self-striping yarns, so you’ll get the fabulous effect of color-work in no time.

Wraps to Crochet

The Fringed Shawl (Crochet) uses our immensely popular Mandala Yarn, pictured in Pegasus.

It’s a Level 2 project, and in just two cakes of Mandala, you’ll have a go-to wrap to grab for any breezy outdoor plans. Since it’s a fuller accessory, try styling with a simpler outfit – a shirtdress in a complementary color, or an understated top with jeans, like our model above.

If you’re looking for something a little more understated, try the Trenton Triangle Shawl (Crochet).

This shawl has a little less body, but a bolder color. Our LB Collection Superwash Merino is 100% Merino Wool, so it’s cozy without being too bulky. We love this look – pairing it with a matching tee. Throw a jean jacket on, too, and take your look from afternoon to evening.

Maybe you’re in the market for a one-skein wonder? Look no farther than the Milo Shawl (Crochet).

This citrusy beauty can be crafted with just one skein of Shawl in a Ball (pictured in Zen Azalea). The gentle color-striping of this yarn has more of a water-color effect, and this juicy wrap will liven up any ensemble. But don’t hesitate to pair bright with bright!

Wraps to Knit

Another Shawl in a Ball project to bring spring to your wardrobe’s color palette is our Sedona Triangle Shawl (Knit).

This whimsical color is called Half Moon, but we dare you to explore this pattern in other colors, too! You either could use a cheerier skein like this one, and create the perfect pop of color. Or, you could choose a more neutral-toned skein like Cleansing Quartz, Namaste Neutrals, or Om Opal for a wear-with-anything everyday wrap.

For an easy knit with just enough texture, you might just love our Easy Triangle Shawl (Knit).

Maybe you love the look of texture, but would love to wear your new FO ASAP? Grab a skein of our Cupcake Yarn, and this Level 2 project will be a breeze. In addition to a surprising variety of colors in each cake, there are 24 fun color options to choose from! Because of the shifting colors, the simple yet effective eyelet pattern gets highlighted even more.

Don’t let the ever-changing April weather throw your style for a loop! Instead, grab a new pattern, a bright cake or skein, and stitch up something spectacular. Besides being beautiful, these transitional accessories can elevate our in-between looks, and keep us feeling polished ’til summer comes. Let us know in the comments below which of these wraps you’d like to add to your spring rotation, and layer your way to warmer weather!
