Top 140 Patterns Countdown: Weeks 1 & 2

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Earlier this month, we announced a special countdown in honor of our 140th Anniversary. We’ll be sharing our top 140 patterns, one each day, on social media with the hashtag #LBY140. And now, we’ve decided to do a roundup and share them on our blog, as well! Here are all the patterns featured in the first two weeks of our countdown, so you can get inspired for your summer crafting. And in case you don’t use social media, you can always check here on the blog, where we’ll share them every week.

14 Patterns for our 140th Anniversary

Week 1 features so many adorable tops, all perfect for the summery weather. There’s also one timeless accessory that snuck its way onto the list, so every outfit will look complete. In Week 2, we found more variety with ideas for crafting for kids, as well as many colorful projects for grownups.

Week 1

We kicked off our top 140 patterns countdown with the Anderson Ranch Pullover (Knit), which is the perfect easy summer sweater. While some might shy away from a long-sleeved garment in the summer, this one is light & breezy. On day 2, we dove in with the first crochet project, the Laikini Cardigan (Crochet Kit). This open-weave is darling, so you’ll be reaching for this to complete all your summer looks. Another gorgeous crochet piece is our Key West Circle Top (Crochet). And our crafters love it, too!

Another cozy summer sweater popped up in our first week of the countdown: the Camden Cardigan (Knit). It’s the perfect blend of sky blue and a subtle olive-y green, so it’ll transition well into fall weather, too. If you haven’t tried our Rewind Yarn yet, then this would be a great project to start! Our next pattern is also a Rewind project, the Capri Circle Bag (Crochet Kit). This bag shape is the must-have accessory for the summer, but it’s classic – you’ll be able to use it for years to come.

Finally, to close out our first week of the countdown, two very colorful pieces to brighten any wardrobe. The Openwork Shawl (Crochet) has long been a favorite among our crafters. Maybe it’s the beloved Shawl in a Ball Yarn, or maybe it’s the fact that it’s a one-skein wonder project. When there’s so much to love, who can say for sure? Then the Festival Top (Crochet), which is darling and funky at the same time.

Week 2

To start Week 2 of our epic countdown, we chose a couple cute patterns for kids. First, our Mini Mermaid Tail (Crochet) is a hit with all the little mermaids. You could either craft it as a gift, or make it with your favorite young crocheter. Next, if you’re crafting for someone very little, then you cannot go wrong with our Storybook Baby Hoodie Pattern (Knit), which is made with a Pound of Love.

Two beautiful blue projects are next in our countdown. When you want the beautiful effect of colorwork without going to the trouble, there’s only one thing to do: grab yourself a self-striping yarn, like Shawl in a Ball. That’s what you’ll need if you want to make the Easy Breezy Cardi (Knit), and we just know you’re going to love it. Another wildly popular pattern has been the French Market Tote (Crochet Kit).

Three very colorful projects rounded out our second week, so get excited! Our Clement Canyon Poncho (Crochet) is worked in earthy neutrals with not only a peaceful vibe, but also easy care instructions (thanks to our 24/7 Cotton). The first baby afghan to make it to our list is our Happy Colors Baby Afghan (Crochet). Because it’s our Ice Cream Big Scoop Yarn, it’s very gentle for baby skin, and you’ll only need one big skein. Last but definitely not least, the Adirondack Wrap (Crochet Kit). The color changes are perfectly planned, and there are 7 choices of Mandala for this kit, so you’re sure to find one that’s perfect for you.

Craft Our Top 140 Patterns

We couldn’t be more excited to share these wonderful top 140 patterns with you, because we’re so grateful you’ve chosen to craft with us over the years. Whether you choose to follow along on social media, or catch our pattern roundups on the blog, we hope you’ll see some familiar favorites as well as plenty of brand new ideas. Let us know in the comments below if you’ve made any of these projects, and especially if there’s something you want to try! We’re grateful to have our yarn and patterns on your hooks and needles, and certainly hope to craft with you for many years to come.
